Here is the new "electric" cook-top DH brought home with him after work late last night. "Looks great! I like! ...?... It don't fit!" ... If it's not one thing, it's another... It shows in the photo... 8-/
With this cook-top not fitting, means extra work for DH today, and a big mess for me to clean up. Having to do this messed up his plans for an early 2-hour drive to his friend's for the weekend... To do handyman work there also... Have I mentioned DH is handy to have around? 8-)
He's measuring, and remeasuring, sawing, making a mess, and making lots of noise pollution around here... The Fur-Girls are not liking any of this!
My day? One of those days....
I had missed my quilt night last night due to not feeling well, but starting to feel better, so had big plans to go to my Wonky Bit group today... After packing up my "stuff" last night and promises that I will be there, it's just not going to happen... Was up most of the night with what I think is a bladder infection, thus not enough rest, thus feeling crappy again today, a very sore knot in my right shoulder, and to throw a total monkey wrench into my day, a call to the doc's this morning has me an appointment right smack in the middle of my day. Thus another reason not to bother with Wonky Bits as it is 20 minutes east of the city, and doc is a 35 minute drive to the south end of the city. Wouldn't leave me much time either way... Big sigh.... 8-/
I will however, have lots of "alone time" this "Thanks Giving weekend". DD1 is in Nova Scotia now, DD2 and DS will be at a friend's cottage, and DH, well I wrote up there what he is doing all weekend. My parents are even going to Mom's cousins for Thanks Giving dinner!!! ...?... I guess I have to be thankful for alone time, and have a turkey sandwich.... Which gives me time to make that tutorial of the Sweatshirt Jacket. I already started on that project.... 8-)
Well, good news is the cook-top is wired and in! Bad news is, I loose a drawer, and this set DH's plans back about 8 hours... 8-( But at least we can cook again... if we want to. 8-)
DH is taking the motorcycle with him to put into storage. WE had great fun getting it into the trailer...in the rain... NOT! Cycle tide down, stuff thrown into the van, and away he went.... Have a nice weekend... And OH! It may snow tonight!!! ALREADY?! NOoooooo!!! Too soon!!!
Found a great tutorial on Flying Geese directed there from Crazy Mom Quilts. It is on a gal's blog called Life's a Quilt in Finland.... I have posted the tutorial in my sidebar for quick reference.
Also found a link to a great Light-Box idea on Fiona's Dragonfly Crafts blog. I also have the link listed in my sidebar under Tutorials...

Thanks for the links Myra. I've used my Ott Light where once opened up all the way flat positioned it under my see-through acrylic extension table for my Pfaff. Instant light-box!
Glad to hear you're cookin' again. Enjoy your solitude this weekend!
HA! What a great idea Katherine!!! I never thought of that!!! And it is all sitting there right in front of me!!! Mind you, I may have come up with that IF I were doing a project that required a light box... 8-)
Enjoy your sewing time and I hope you feel better soon.
Love and hugs Gina xxx
Nice job DH. I'm in need of a new cook top/oven, actually make that kitchen. We have quite an old house, we renovated the rest of it five years ago, I'm still waiting for a re-vamped kitchen. Does your DH feel like a working holiday?
Myra Have a great weekend. You girls have got the best idea. A light box, wonderful and so easy. Hope your cook top works well. Hope to see lots of cooking now.
you are soooooo lucky to have the weekend to yourself... I'm green with jealousy. Hopefully you'll get ahead of whatever is ailing you (lots of cranberry juice if it is a bladder infections) and enjoy the time to just mope...
Myra, I hope you are feeling better. Bladder infections are the pits. Looks like DH did a great job with the cook top. Try not to wear it out. Eat out more! Enjoy your weekend. Alone time can be a wonderful thing. I am looking forward to a tutorial on the sweatshirt jacket. I have wanted to make one for a long time, and I really like the one you made.
Hi Myra. Hope you are feeling Better And Do as the doctor tell's you.
Hugs Mary.
Get well soon ... not nice to be unwell when there is so much stitching to do (lol)! Lucky you having a handyman husband!
Hugs - Lurline.
The cook top looks nice. I have a light box for tracing applique patterns but I haven't used it yet. My quilting is kinda on hold, too many others things going on. Bladder infections are no fun. I have chronic ones. Yuck! Hope you have a great weekend!
