..... QUILTING FOREVER, HOUSEWORK WHENEVER .....

Greetings!

A belated Merry Christmas to all my friends out in Blogland! I hope your time with
family and friends during the Christmas season was enjoyable, and well blessed!

I also wanted to let ya all know, that, at our last "small group retreat" (photos to come),
I challenged my fellow quilting buddy (also a blogger that has also been...shall
we say?..."lazy with her blogging" for the past two years, like me),
to post once a week, for the whole of 2015.
Please.... We are counting on all our quilting friends around
the world, to keep us on track with this.
She has already posted 3 entries since agreeing to the challenge,
and I, after the chaos that December brings, just remembered this challenge.
Oh my!!!

Also, I am committed to catching up on what is new on all your blogs, as well as
making my PhD list a lot smaller than what it is right now. Check it out,
and you are welcome to hold me to it! OMGosh!! I just checked and there are
17 quilt tops!!! Well, I have my work cut out for me don't I?

This "new year resolution" is getting out of hand!!
I also promised myself that I would join the local Yoga Club in January, and
do the treadmill or go for a walk five times a week. I do have to start slowly,
because I have been a major couch potato for a long time. My physical and
mental health is in dire need of the improvement that these activities can bring!!

Self Motivation is NOT my middle name (such is life when living with depression),
so wish me luck, cause I sure need it!!

I wish you all the best of health and happiness in 2015!

Happy New Year!!!

Myra
PS: In this new year we will again be blessed with another grandchild..

Just home from big retreat...

There were 32 wonderful quilters this time! Seems the
November Retreat is growing a bit each year...

I finished up GS#4's Christmas Stocking here.
I blocked out his name for the blog.

Next year I will have another stocking to make for GC#5
that is due in April. Perhaps a granddaughter this time???

I also put together a Take Two quilt top!
As well as cut out more Hexagons for my Hexi project.
It has doubled in size since that photo was taken.
I'm still trying to square it off...

Snow is here, I think to stay now...
I was hoping that is wouldn't come till Dec 20th.
Wishful thinking I know!!

Happy stitching!

My Reading List...

...on Google is showing up now!
That is really weird, but I am happy about it! Only thing is no time to do any blog hopping today. Will try tomorrow!

I leave you with photos of all 4 of our sweet grandsons.
Busy boys!

?????

I seem to have lost my reading list? What happened to all the blogs "I was" following? I was going to check up on everyone's latest creations, and I have no list!?!?! What's up with that!!

Sept 2014 Homewood Retreat

 I FINALLY finished my 4th grandchild's quilt.
He turned One in April!! My bad!  :(
I got the "fornicating" PJ bottoms made for my DH. (Can you see why they are so named?) Started them in May, but had problems with my serger, then summer happened, and well, time went on.
DL helped me with my "serger issues", and I got them done. Now DH can wear them at his week of golfing with the guys. Should be worth a laugh or two!  ;)  I also made a pair of Canadian PJ bottoms for myself. All the gals made a pair. At $2.00 a meter, and a good quality flannel, why not!?!
Thanks DL!!

Then I went on to FINALLY start making my B-I-L a quilt for his bed. (the fabric has only been sitting around for a year +) I thought that a simple pattern would see it done for Christmas.
Two borders, and a few circle/donut appliques to add yet.

As per usual, my small group retreat in a lovely little cottage was a welcome,
productive, and enjoyable time!! There is 9 of us in the group.

Hope you are all keeping well and stitching up a storm!

Ostrich Project

A while ago I instigated a project for quilters to follow along on. All participants were to give me three suggestions for me to throw into the hat. Suggestions could be a method, a block pattern, or shape. Then once a month I would do a draw from the hat. It was a 13 month project, and your could "hide your head in the sand" once during that time, and not do the chosen suggestion. So if say, you didn't like applique, you could bow out that month. The project was to be whatever you wanted to create, be it a full size quilt, a small wall-quilt, a tote, whatever.

I chose to do a small wall-quilt. Photo is kind of blurry, and was taken at a bit of an angle, so it looks not squared, but I assure you, it is...
The picks for each month was, 9-Patch, Churn Dash, Bow-tie, Dresden, Flying Geese, Star, Circles, Applique, Triangles, Seminole, Paper-Piecing (my head in the sand choice), Square in a Square, Piano Keys...

Now to sandwich, quilt, and bind...

You can see Joanne's project here... She made a lovely bed runner.

Enjoy the summer weather!

Quilting today...

Quilting a "grandson's quilt" today...
Hoping to have it fully finished and ready to present it on Sunday on our Easter visit...

Seems this quilt has used up the rest of my batting, so time for a shop to buy more
this week, as I have several quilt tops that need sandwiching...

Happy stitching!

An April Retreat

A table topper flimsy that I adjusted/added to, from this post shown here. I didn't like what I had, you'll read why there, so I did some stitch ripping, cut out a few more triangles, and vwalla!!
We did a group project Friday afternoon. We each made the "WOW Bag"!
Here is mine. "The Tote"
And here it is adjusted to "The Duffle Bag"
As you can see, mine was a size smaller than the others...
They went together really well. No problems...
I also put together my "Ostrich Project" flimsy. Now I just have to sandwich, quilt, and bind it...
Here is a peek of it...

Happy stitching!!
