Today's Motor Ride

A very eventful and interesting day...

DH said I had to set aside an hour for him. I needed to dress in jeans, my heavy shoes, and bring my leather jacket... Hmmmm...? His motor bike is at his friend's right now, so it can't be a bike ride... can it? Well, it was!
Apparently a semi truck full of motorcycles goes across Canada to Harley Davidson Shops to promote their bikes, and people can sign up for a ride on a bike of choice, and wait your turn...
This was our ride! The "Electra Glide Classic"!
That would be me with the bike...Looking like I have a big belly cause I have camera, cellphone, and such in my inside jacket pockets...
Pretty dorky looking hey!?! LOL! 8-)
It was a quick (15 minutes), nice ride, though a bit nerving because DH had never ridden a bike so big before...

Prior to this ride, we took the dogs for a walk, and me a "trip" to the sidewalk. Not fun!
Hurt and scraped up my knee, scraped up my hand, and now my hand and wrist are very sore. Hope I didn't fracture anything... DH managed to grab hold of me on the way down, which I think prevented me from hitting the sidewalk to within an inch of my face. Thank goodness! I would have been a sight!!! 8-/

Oh, and the fur-girls got into 2 fights today. One of them was over this new toy that DD1 brought over last night... and the other, well just because... Bad girls!
That is it for our Sunday!

Mary Grace's Pay-It-Forward gift goodies... 8-)

When I got home last night it was so stuffy in the house (hubby at work - windows closed), so I opened up the back storm door screen, and went and opened the front door to open the storm door screen... Well! What do I find between the doors!?! It is a package from Mary Grace!!! Woohoo!!!

Once I finally had all my stuff unpacked and sorted, I sat down to open the parcel....

First, a Hush Puppies box was revealed! 8-)
Then, once I pulled back the Hush Puppies tissue paper I saw this wonderful assortment of what looked like it was going to be fun opening! Of course! It's from MG! lol! 8-)
Oh my goodness! Look at the goodies I found in there!!! First I opened the lovely card, then saw the package of very cute note cards. Then I opened the little box to reveal 6 Yo-Yos and a lovely mini Rosary (I forget what they are called).
Very nice! 8-)
I then pulled out a rolled up "Apple" dish-cloth that I plan to use during the Christmas holidays cause it's red.... and to top it all off, I found the Apple Bag MG made at the beginning of the month!!! I had commented how much I liked it when she posted about it, and now I find it in my hands!!! What a sneaky gal that MG is! 8-)
Thank you so much for your time and talent that went into making this gift Mary Grace!
I love it! 8-)

Now, I shall, once again, have to get caught up on all your doings while I was gone, which could take a while, but I will get there! 8-)
Have a wonderful weekend all! 8-)

I'm off to my Auntie Joyce and Uncle Pete's 50th today!

Home and tired...very tired...but here is my goodies!

Just home and very tired, but thought I would send out a quick post first...

I came home to a big surprize! A parcel in the mail, for me!!! 8-) I am going to tease you all by not posting the contents of the box until tomorrow morning sometime, but let me say, NICE GIFTIES!!! 8-) Thank you soooooo much for the PIF gift Mary Grace!!! I love it! 8-)
This is what I bought at Wallymart in Fargo on Tuesday night... I've heard a lot of good things about knitting with Bamboo needles, saw them, bought them... and then I decided to get a ball of cotton yarn right away... in case I wanted to do something in the evenings while recuperating from our spending sprees each day... not a stitch was made...
On Thursday morning, before we headed out of Fargo, my cousin dropped me off at Mill's End Textiles for a good hour and a half...
In this photo we have the yellow/blue and yellow/green fabrics that I thought would make kewl bias bindings. Also, a black/white for me growing collection, and the last 4 fabrics I thought worked well together, thinking the start of my collection for my bargello...?... We'll see... 8-)
I bought some tone on tones to add to my stash... I tend to not have enough of those... I think I could have looked for me, but I was pressed for time... 8-(
And I bought some Steam-a-Seam at $2.96 yd. Here we pay about $12 a meter!!! Found a kewl pattern that kept calling my name, and some Cover Buttons. I really like them, and use them often...
And, believe it or not, I did make it to Mayville, to Faye's Henhouse Quilt Shop Joyce!!! I've never asked my cousin to drive us there before (her vehicle) because it is 11 miles out of our way and she is not a quilter. I did ask this time and she was sweet enough to agree to it, and we had lunch in town there too.... happy, happy, happy! 8-)
Thanks Bf!!! 8-)
It is a very impressive shop, to say the least!!! I did not have as much time to really explore the shop, as I would have if I was with a bunch of quilters, but I did ok... 8-)

The one gal there was very helpful. Helped me pick out fabrics to go with my charm-pack project. I think we did pretty good. The floral is just cause I liked it and was on sale... and that pattern was calling to me too... 8-)
I found a neat little business card and measurement aid card in the bag with my goodies... a great little card!!! 8-)Well, that be it for all my sewing room purchases... I did buy myself 2 pairs of jeans, black pants, 5 tops, undies, and such, as well as some gifties for my little family...

A good time was had, and now it is time to catch up on some much needed sleep....
And if something I typed doesn't make sense to you, it probably won't to me if I read it again when I'm rested... lol! 8-)

Till tomorrow then!
Myra

The good old days...

Remember when everyone danced at house parties?
My grandparents always had "the" New Years Eve party with about 30 people... when they lived in the house with the big basement... dance floor AND party area...
It was great when us "kids" were old enough to join in... 8-)
This is my patents before they were married dancing in the old house's livingroom...

Don't we look down and out here... I look like a little hobo... 8-)
A little rental farm house is where we lived.
Dad was a Winnipeg transit bus driver at the time...
I love this photo!!! 8-)
Here is my mother, about 4 years younger than I am now, with her first grandchild, my DD1, introducing my fur-boy (Tiny) at the time.
I should be home by next post, showing you all my "goodies" brought home...
I hope you all had a good week, and that I didn't bore you all with my old photos!

Something to try....

Brenda brought my attention to a cream recipe to share, from Mary's blog Quilting in Oz... I'm gonna try it!!! 8-)

As you read this, I will be on my way to Fargo and Grand Forks for my annual trip with my cousin... It was majorly delayed due to the Spring flooding this year. We usually go in early April...

Birdie photo out my sewing room window... yes the weeding needs doing! 8-)

Pincushion from Holland...

Inside this "heart box" (that I made for DD1 when she was about 10 years old) I keep my hand quilting tools....
Many, many years ago (20 to 30 years ago I'm thinking), my cousin in Holland made and sent me this pincushion, made with variegated thread...
It has been well used and well loved...because her hands made it, for me... 8-)
I use it when I do hand quilting and stitcheries...

And it is stored in the "heart box" with my other hand quilting items...
I'm thinking that Lilly should be getting my giveaway win package today or tomorrow, but I guess that I won't know till I get home on Friday... 8-(

No more progress will be done on my Hollyhocks today as I have housework to do before I leave for the States early tomorrow morning...

I must remember to bring some of my blocks from other projects to see if I can match up something to use for boarders... Why do shops not supply yardages to go with the Charm Packs/Jelly Rolls they sell!?!

I have some scheduled posts to pop up while I am gone to keep you entertained... as if!!! LOL!!! 8-)

Have a good week everyone!

Stem #2 is stuck down...

Stem #2 is stuck down, 1 more to go... then comes the fun of machine applique...
Any suggestions for that? Can one use invisible thread for it? Which stitch? Open to suggestions... please...
Wonky Phyl? What say you? 8-)My sewing room is a horrible mess!
Two more sleeps and I'm off to Fargo! Woohoo! 8-)

First stem...

I've got the first stem stuck down on my project for my parent's 50th anniv gift...
...and then I got interrupted with DH, DS, and Bro coming home from their fishing venture... I didn't expect them home till later in the wee hours of the morning, or some time tomorrow!!!
Mon
key wrench... But home safe and sound thank goodness... 8-)

I made arctic fleece pillow covers for the fur-girl's pillows today... Hopefully they will stand up to the girl's roughness, and not get chewed up...
See the boat on the street in the background? First time since we bought her last Fall that she has been out on the water. Wondering how she preformed for DH?

Caught the Momma Rabbit frolicking with the baby this afternoon... too cute! I am some concerned that I haven't seen the other baby for 2 days now... 8-(
Hope you are all having a great weekend! 8-)

Friday already!?!

I've been pretty quiet this week haven't I? Shock of all shocks! You are probably thinking I am sewing up a storm... NOT! Just haven't had anything much to post about... still really don't...

I've been a single woman since 5am on Tuesday. It should only last till Saturday/Sunday though... The boys went fishing in Ontario, so it has been really quiet around here... DD2 came for sup last night to scan more old family photos... had a nice visit. Today I am going to my parents for lunch, and then we are going to the hall where the 50th anniversary will be held, to sort out some details...

Wish I had a clothesline!!!
Been wanting one since we got married 24.75 years ago, but DH has avoided that request at every house we've lived... so, this is what I was up to yesterday/today... Hand washed my batiks, hung them in the shower over night for most of the moisture to go, then hung them in my dining room on a rod this morning. Raining outside today, so I couldn't place them out like I had planned... hopefully they will be dry when I get home later this afternoon...Then once ironed, I can get all my steam-a-seam pieces ironed on, cut out, and ready to roll...

Gotta go walk the dogs now and get on with my day! 8-)

Have a good one!

Done! 8-)

Got Lilly's X-Bag win done today... All I had to finish was the button hole... which I had to figure out how to do on my Pfaffy... My old machine was some simpler, but I figured it out! 8-)
Three pockets. I lined it with a pink stripe. Originally I thought to bind it with the stripe, but it was not to be... 8-)
I shall be mailing it off to Lilly on Tuesday due to our Victoria Day long weekend, so she should receive it by next week Monday/Tuesday I am thinking... We shall see! 8-)

Last night we went out for dinner, at The Keg, with our good friends W & J. We celebrated a big 50 birthday... Our meals were great! 8-)

I made the fur-girls a little stuffed arctic fleece pillow-like object to play with... Kept them busy for about 10 minutes... 8-)

Dora loves to chew all toys, especially Ruby's, to destruction, and I have found that arctic fleece seems to stand up better than any other item the girls might play with... I plan to make arctic fleece pillow covers for their pillows too... we'll see how that goes... 8-)

Anyone ever heard of a Tulip Tree? I haven't! Pop on over to Brenda's blog and have a look! Awesome!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!
Time for me to move on to my next deadline project! 8-)
