Turtles ready...

Turtle pieces in place on baby quilt...
 Machine applique to go!
They will be much more defined then...

DD2's new baby sheets, towels, clothes, baby clothes, etc, plus DD1's wonderful thrift store baby clothes finds ($5 a bag full x 2) are all washed and ready for our angel. Sorted into boy's and girl's boxes. All ready to be used...

Mr&Mrs.Rose's new house (previous post) is apparently in place, and tomorrow we help clean and move everything in... I hope they have a few days to enjoy it before they are joined by baby...

Hope you are having a great week!

Another Baby Quilt Top...

I made a quilt top a while ago for my first grandchild, thinking it was to be neutral, for girl or boy, but found it to suit a baby girl more. So, I decided to make another quilt top more suited to a baby boy. That is what I've been working on here and there this last while since we've been home from our time away... Only thing I have to do yet is add a turtle applique...
Once baby makes its way into the world I will complete the appropriate quilt... 8-)
Our Mrs Rose (DD2) is looking wonderful, and feeling great! Can you believe she hasn't gained a pound!!

These two are busy bees right now, and we are all hoping baby can wait another week... Read "why" above my posts...

Their house did come today...
It will be put in place tomorrow...

I put a poll on my right sidebar to see how many are interested in taking part in my Mystery Quilt-Along...
(As if I need to be doing this MQA with
everything else going on around here!!!
Like I need a hole in my head too!!! LOL!)
Anyway, I sure would appreciate seeing what
the results might be on the poll... 8-)

It has been well over a week since I've posted, and much longer since I've caught up on visiting all those special bloggers that I follow, as well as those that leave comments on my posts... Once this crazy time that we've been experiencing is over, and I don't feel so overwhelmed, my blogging practices will resurface I am sure...

Till then, take care and
happy stitching friends! 8-)

Been away again...

We went to visit Mr & Mrs Farmer in Wisconsin Cheese Country! We had a wonderful visit, and once again DD1 surprized me with some quilty thrift store finds!!!

Fabrics! Measuring scrap size to 3/4yd...
Patterns at 50% off last marked price...
Books also at 50% off last marked price...
  Lucky me!

DD1 also took me to several quilt
shops in the area... 8-)

Here are the 2 greens I bought at Brubaker Sewing & Furniture. They are to go with
these other fabrics to make a baby boy quilt,
in case our grandchild is a boy...
blue, green, orange, yellow...
DD2 picked the full green to use in the quilt, and I may use the print for the applique...?

At the "Sew'n Sew" Quilt Shop
I bought this T-Shirt...
 These prints...
 These Fat Quarters...
...And the zipper pattern. The zippers and the long needles I got at a very "cheep, cheep" shop that DD1 showed me...
I was amazed that the quilt shops were all found on the back roads around there, on private home properties! Love it! One place we stopped in sold quilts, no fabrics. It was an Amish Homestead. Beautiful quilts!!

DD1 also took me to one of her favorite thrift stores where we filled a paper bag full, and I do mean full, of gently used baby clothes for $5.00!!! WOW!

Can you believe I didn't take one photo during the whole time away!?!

Hope you have all been well!

What I have been up to...

Visits with my Bro and SIL (he is on a slow mend), catching up on sleep (supposedly), hosted a couple dinners/BBQs, catching up with friends and family, and still prepping for baby's arrival with DD2...

My CCC quilt group has it's final BOM block, the August block, to produce for the beginning of September. Here is July's BOM contributions, won by friend Ac. 8-)
This is Jr's August BOM sample for us... Too cute!
A jar of frogs! 8-)
Here is my contribution, sewn and ready to go!
Tinkerbell in a jar! Pixie-dust and all...
And guess what I've finally got loaded
onto my comp!!?! Whoohoo!!!
It was easy-peasy to load, and for me,
not a minute to loose!!! 8)

After watching the tutorial videos,
I start to put things into practice...
Planned a layout. Plugged in sampler blocks, colors/fabrics, and such to get familiar with the program... Just for play, and I'm loving it!!! 8-)

I've even got my CCC Mystery Project made
up in EQ now, so time to get serious with that!!!
If you care to play along with us, the fabric requirements will be given by week's end.
You will find it on my "CCC Mystery Quilt Along" page, found under my blog's header title...

Happy stitchin'!

"Mystery 2011"

"Mystery 2011"
Planned for my CCC Quilt Group, and I am making it available for any of you lovely quilters that wish to play along with us!!

The end result will be a 62"x74" quilt.

Fabric requirements, and a first step, to be done at your leisure, will be out by this week's end...

Since I have my first grand baby due at the end of this month, or beginning of next month, I will make the next step available around Sept 15th...

I am hoping this is going to be fun for you,
as well as for me!! 8-)

I would sure like to know if you decide to jump in and take part, as well I would like to know if you post of your progress, so I can pop in for a look-see!!! Perhaps I should look into seeing how that MrLinky thing works...?... 8-)

If interested, feel free to grab my "Mystery Quilt-Along" button for your sidebar, with a link-back to my blog home page or this page, and do become a follower if you wish!

Thanks for your consideration,
and for popping in!

Just checking in...

Obviously, comp time, blogging and all it encompasses, is not a priority right now as you will have noticed... Been busy with family priorities... I've even missed a few weeks of my quilt gatherings... 8-(

Bro is home from the hospital, much to my dismay, as I feel he should have stayed there for another week, but he is happy to be home... It will be a long recoup time for him...

Did visits to Mr & Mrs Rose's property to see the prep work done for the house to be moved on. It has been slow going for them (paper work with the municipality, the bank and lawyers) to get the house out there... They have a month before baby makes its appearance, so we hope it all comes together before the big day... 8-)

My plan for getting my EQ 7 program onto
my comp and getting familiar with it a week
ago fell through, so I am looking forward to
that happening, hopefully this week now...
I have a mystery project to see through for
my CCC group!!! Pressure!!!
It is what keeps me going! lol! 8-)

The mail brought a fabric postcard to my door last week from Laurie. Isn't it adorable!?! Laurie took part in my PhD Challenge. Thanks Laurie!! Go have a look at what she is creating right now... Too cute!! 8-)

Progress on baby stitching and knitting
has also fell behind.. 8-(

My sample diaper that I made over a week ago is cute, but the fabric I used for wet proofing is not effective, so I must go look for this PUL stuff... I just used what I had on hand...

DD1 is my little "thrift store" shopper, and she surprized me with these wonderful quilt books she found... There are some wonderful inspirational thoughts coming out of them!! Some awesome patterns!!!
Thanks Mrs.Farmer!!! 8-)
Wonky Bits friend Pd made the 2 templates on the left for me, as I wanted a Twister template that was bigger than the one I bought, but smaller than the larger one my friend Pg bought... Pd also made me an apple-core template!!! Big smiles!!!
Thanks Pd! 8-)
Wonky Bits friend Hc gave me these 2 darling patterns for my grand-baby/future grand-babies. The rag quilt animal pattern is too cutel!!
Thanks Hc!! 8-)
I am so darn spoiled sometimes... ;)

Off for another trip to my Bro's home, appointments, and such...

I noticed there is a lot of wonderful quilty goodness happening out there in blogland, as per usual!!! Good for all of you!! I will pop in for visits when I can...

Happy stitchings friends!
