Quilting Bloggers Site & small Request...

I was visiting the Quilting Bloggers site today, and was surprized at how much it has grown since my last visit, long ago...

I was also surprized to see that there are only 10 Manitoba quilters that have listed their blogs here... I know, or have met, several of these wonderful quilters.

Are there that few quilters that are blogging in Manitoba? Or, are they not interested in putting their blog out there to share with other fellow Manitobans, Canadians, and the World?

If you are unfamiliar with this site, click on this, "Quilting Bloggers", it will take you to the site. Do check it out my friends! Lots of wonderful, friendly quilt-bloggers out there! If you scroll down, you will find all the different Countries Bloggers, then all the USA Bloggers, and finally the Canadian bloggers...

Request for a quilt friend that moved to Alberta...
Jm, a friend of mine, that moved to...?... I believe it is Red Deer, with her young family back in June. Jm is an enthusiastic quilter of about 3 years now. She has emailed our group here, expressing that she misses sharing and having fun with us, and that she would like to find a quilt group in her area. If any of you lovely quilters out there can direct her or invite her to possibly check out or/and join a group/guild (big or small), please, after a short comment (for Jm to read the possibilities for her out there), email me a contact person and I will pass the info on to her...

Thanks friends... 8-)

A Spring/Summer bird-nest revealed, high in the tree...
Tidied up my sewing/computer room today, so that I at least have some cleared off work surfaces...
That's better!
Can't iron, and things are accumulating on the floor...
That will work... 8-)

My Time Away...

I went to Thunderbay to visit friend H and her family for an extended weekend (Thursday till Tuesday). This furry girl was part of the welcoming committee.
Her name is Beauty. They think she is part Giant Schnauzer and Shepard...
What a big sweetie she is... 8-)

In this photo, 2 deer that were right across the street from H's house, in town...
Second deer in the background...

First visit to a quilt shop for H and her daughter J, and my first visit to this shop...
It was a lovely little shop...

This is the pattern of calendar quilts that H bought...
Click on the link to see the package. You can view the 12 quilts there...
H also bought fabrics to make December's wall-quilt, and J bought fabrics (Fabricland) to make April's wall-quilt... This is their very first experience in quilting...
These beauties will each measure 20"x 28" finished... H and J were quite excited with their progress... 8-)

Here is my Batik purchase. I thought it a good choice to make DS a quilt in the near future... 8-)
I just have to find a brown to match for an outside border... Thinking Disappearing 9-Patch pattern...

I couldn't pass up these 2 wall-quilt hangers. There were others that I could have bought also, but one can only buy so much at a time...
Patterns here I couldn't pass up... for future projects... you know... lol! 8-)
I had seen the dress/bloomer made up on Julie's blog a while back and thought it adorable, so I was some pleased finding it... 8-)

J and I went to Fabricland where she bought her fabrics for her April wall-quilt, and at $1.99 a FQ, I had to get my share too... A nice variety of colors...
A Wally-mart purchase of new magazines...
I had a wonderful stay with H! Excellent meals H!! Thanks a bunch, and good luck to you and J with the rest of those awesome projects!!!

We are experiencing some rotten weather up here right now. Rainy, cold, and very, very windy. They say the snow may be coming later tonight... NOOOOOoooooo...... Not ready for that!!!

I've managed to take a quick peek at some of my friendly bloggers posts, and am awestruck of what I've seen picture-wise!!! I will pop back for a read and comment tomorrow as I am mostly doing catchup with DH today... 8-)

Hope you are all having a great week!

Addition...

On Thursday I put together the backing and batting for the Mr & Mrs. Rose's "wedding quilt", in preparation for renting the quilting frame/machine at Carellan's Sewing Center Friday...
That, and not having a good nights sleep has set me back in my "feeling some better" of being sick... So, Friday morning I really wasn't up to setting out to quilt it, but I pushed myself out the door to "get'er done!" and am glad it is done now...
...and there I sit with my 2 pairs of glasses on... 8-)
Notice the Australian T-shirt that DD2 brought back for me from her trip there 3 years ago...
I will take a breather from the big project till I am up to doing the trimming and binding on it...

I picked up some fabrics for my row for the Row Robin Project yesterday too, so will set myself to doing that today. To bad I can't reveal the photo progression of these row projects to you yet, as they are looking really good! 8-)

A happy "Canadian" Thanksgiving weekend to you all! 8-)

Books 4 & 5 of my purchases...

I thought this wall-quilt would be a nice thing to hang on my sewing room door... now we'll see if I ever get to it... Good intentions vs sluggish quilter...

Some nice looking quilts in this book...
There are 7 patterns...

Book 3 of my purchases...

This books holds info on achieving the curved woven look, and it is indeed woven together... Looks interesting to try on a small project...
There are 7 projects in this book...
Here are a few small projects that look doable...

Sew, Show & Tell...

 Our group's first BOM Draw...
This was our September's pattern, "Autumn Leaf", which one of our gals won last night. Though there are only 18 blocks showing here, there were 20 made.
Congrats on your win Gb!!! 8-)
Here is a sample of what October's block pattern is, "Christmas Tree"...
This is Pg's quilt. The blocks were given to her, as a gift, from the quilt group where she used to live... Looking good Pg! 8-)

This is one of two quilts that De made for her kids...
 This is the other...
She had just picked them up from the quilters...
She is set to bind them now... Awesome De!!! 8-)

This is Dk's quilt she was binding.
It is one of her many Linus projects....
I am sure it will be well loved Dk! 8-)

Jr's plaid-works... Cool! 8-)
I feel I am falling back into the groove of my life again, somewhat... Yahoo!!!

Now that all the hectic wedding related things are over, and I am feeling some better from being sick all week, it is time to do a major tidying of my bedroom, and get my sewing room in order!!! YIKES!
I also need to do more planning and organizing for our quilt retreat in November, as well as for a small retreat in February for my Row Robin Group, for the final exchange and reveal...

Speaking of Row Robin, tis another  box exchange coming up next week, so I best get my row contribution done too yet!!! Still need to pick up some fabrics for it as it is not in a color way that I keep in my stash...

Well, that be it for now...
Happy stitchings! 8-)
