A finish...

Today I finished our little TJ's stocking, in
good time of his first Christmas.
 I doctored up the photo...
His real name is indeed on the stocking...

Bought Vol 4 here...
Some really great blocks in there!!

Next up! Get this baby quilt done...
Also, I need to figure out what I'll be working on at another Cottage Retreat this coming weekend, and get everything packed up...

Calling all Canadian Quilters, pop on over to The Needle and Thread Network and read what is asked of you. Come on! Do your part to get this off the ground...

And pop on over to Lee's blog to check out the wonderful projects popping up on her WIP Wednesday post...

Happy stitching!

I've been seeing some more "Myra's Mystery" quilt tops popping up on blogs... Anyone seen any more out there? Please let me know as I would love to see them! There are still a few to be completed in my quilt group too...

Fur-Girls Stamp of Approval

I finished up all the applique on TJ's "Christmas stocking to be" at our Day Retreat today.
Now it is time to put the stocking together...

I sprayed out our TJ's name in "Paint" on the comp, and drew in the J and happy face...

Hope you all had a great weekend!!

Festive Season upon us......

We visited our little TJ and his
mommy & daddy the other day...
He is getting so strong, starting to grab at things, and is giggling now. I put a little giggle video on my "Gramma's Brag" page...

I started a Christmas stocking for our little TJ. After looking through a lot of books/mags I decided on an Angel Snowman applique design of Nancy Halvorsen's in "Angels Among Us"...

Besides cutting all the pieces needed to make the stocking, I also got all the applique pieces glued down...
I see already I should have doubled up on the white for the head... Ah well... I'll be getting to the stitching sometime next week...

With the season of giving, and all the parties upon us, I may be "missing in action" for a bit... But you know I'll be blogging/visiting when I can! Winking smile

While you are shopping, cooking, baking, stitching, cleaning, and decorating in preparation for the festivities too, do remember to stop for a nice cup of tea, or apple cider, and put your feet up every so often!

Keep smiling!

Mini Design Board...

I've seen mini design boards made on other blogs, and I thought this was a great idea! Thus I set out to make one today...

I took a piece of foam-board, a hot glue-gun, and a piece of batting cut 3 inches bigger than the board, and walla! You have a design board!!!
I took pieces for one block from my large design wall, placed them on my new mini design board...
...and carried over to my sewing machine...
Time to change to another thread color,
and get stitching...

Perhaps this may be a helpful tool for you
in your sewing room too...
----------------------------------

I was too lazy to clear off my ironing-board (just don't know how it gets all piled up with things? No clue!! LOL), so I was using this little pressing tool. Not the best option when pressing quite a few seams...
Then I recalled I had bought this mini iron...way back when...and had never used it, so thought that today was a good day to try it out...
I was surprized at how hot it got, and it works pretty good...for someone that is too lazy to get out of her chair today!! LOL...

As I was sewing today, I finally saw the whole movie "Fiddler on the Roof" on the TV, from start to finish... I've only seen bits and pieces before... Now to do some research...

Happy stitching...

Teacup of a different sort...

In keeping with yesterday's post of Teacup Dolly...
This is a crocheted teacup my Tante (aunt) Tini made many years ago. A bit yellowed with age, but still a pretty keepsake for me...

Tante Tini also crocheted many of my Christmas tree ornaments, and left me with many fond memories of her...

What keepsakes do you have?

Teacup Dolly...Revisited

Finally, I have finished my Teacup Dolly, which was first introduced to my blog back in December 2009. I didn't get it done the way the pattern shows in the magazine, cause I kept forgetting to buy the little "add in pieces". So, today I spotted it sitting in my sewing room, just waiting to be done, and I decided to give it
a different look, with things I had on hand...

Thus, I introduce you to....
"Knitting Teacup Dolly"!
Teacup is a keepsake of my departed MIL...
Knitting was transferred from small
knitting needles, on to toothpicks ...

Feels good to get that one done,
and sitting in the living-room now...

Next!  Winking smile

It was a Guild night...

Friend Ac showed this quilt that she made for her niece. Isn't it wonderful!?
 Lucky niece!!
Ac, you want to be my auntie?  ;)

I tried loading a few more photos, but
blogger isn't letting me tonight...
Will try again next time I post...
--------------------------------------------
Pop on over to Beth's blog to see her Mystery finish from my mystery quilt-along... Beth used fabrics strictly from her stash!! Awesome! 8-)

Anyone else have a mystery finish to share?

Happy stitching!

What's on my display wall?

Monika, from "The Needle and Thread Network" blog, is looking for Canadian bloggers to follow her blog, in order to... Well... Just go there and read her opening info just below her header. That will explain everything, and if you are interested, follow her blog, and post about it on your blog for others to join in... I have her button in my sidebar too... "WIP Wednesday Link-up".

I started cutting up a jelly-roll of...?... I think they are 30s prints, for a new baby quilt to keep for our crib here... For when the kids come for overnight stays/visits...
I still have quite a few pieces to go up,
and more white to cut up...
I followed a friend's past BOM pattern for our group, but upon sitting back and looking at the display wall, I realized that there would have been a simpler way to piece this to basically get the same effect. Oh well... too late now...
 -------------------------------------------------
This is on my friend Pg's design wall. She doesn't have a blog. When Pg decides to make something, she just dives in and does it!!! We find her drive inspiring!! Her quilt top was inspired by Em's Leaders & Enders quilt... Pg always uses her scraps wonderfully!!  ;)
What is on your display wall?
