My Parent's Family Photos...

Mom's Family
Taken in the Netherlands around 1949-1950, just before they moved to Canada...

Mom was about 9. Her brothers are twins...
Dad's Family
Taken in the Netherlands around 1943 I'd say. About 8 years before his family moved to Canada...
Dad is the little guy.

Check out the giant hair-bows. I don't remember it being a style and I don't think I've seen them in any of my Mom's old pictures. Your Mom has a ginormous one in her hair. Maybe it's a style from the Netherlands! Anyway they are great pictures to have.

I like the big hair bows! Why did they decide to move to Canada? A lot of Dutch people came to Carman at about the same time.

I wonder what they were all thinking. Obviously they didn't know they were re-locating to our wonderful country.

Hi Myra! I love these photos. My mom told me about your blog. Wow! Have you ever been busy.

Oh, Myra, I'm so glad that you posted these pictures. I haven't seen the first one in YEARS and don't think that I ever saw your dad's family picture. I didn't recognize your dad but would have figured it by elimination. I do remember your grandpa but not your grandma very well.

I love seeing old photos like this. You are lucky to have them....I hardly have any old family photos and wish I did. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Are both your mom and dad from the Netherlands? Did the families know each other before the moved to Canada?
