I'm baaaacccccck... and tired!

Well I am back, tired, and shocked to find 22 emails in my inbox, 3 more followers, and 74 comments waiting on my blog!!! Holly smokes!!! WOWzers!!!! I get the impression you know I am having a giveaway! LOL! 8-)

Not much show and tell tonight as I have lots of ladies to crop out of the photos... Will post them tomorrow... promise!

Just thought I would show you a few things from this weekend though...

First up is my purchase that I made at Fabricland before heading out of the city on Friday... Light and dark iron on interfacing, Steam-A-Seam 2, snaps and magnets, and 4 fabrics that were on for $5 a meter... Love that light floral for a baby girl quilt... 8-)
Here is the church next door to the retreat house, you can see the twin peaks from a good ways away before you get to the town... Something for the new retreat gals to watch for on their way... 8-)
Past the church's front steps is the retreat house!!! The white part on the left is the old part of the building (was a convent in the past) where the kitchen/dining room, and some bedrooms are, and the new addition is where we have our workshop set up in the chapel upstairs, and have bedrooms downstairs... Tis a great setup! They had a "welcome quilters" sign out for us when we drove up... 8-)
This would be my sleeping area (home away from home). At the other end of the room was my room-mate J! We only had us 2 in our room... a bathroom to the right of my bed leads to another bedroom on the other side...
A very convenient setup down there...
This is my work station. Photo taken Saturday night...?...or Sunday morning... So you can see what I did over the weekend... Those 16-patch blocks were made with my pre-made 4-patches, and I made a whole bunch more half-square triangels, and made them into 4-patches, and got a few of those sewn together...
The floral applique there was put together from a kit I bought 3-4 years back. I thought it high time I get that thing together. It is only "lick and sticked" (steam-a-seamed) there, as I did not think to bring my threads for the machine applique!!! DUH!!! At least I remembered to bring my sewing machine tool kit to this ret
reat!!! lol! 8-)
This was our dessert one night. Wasn't that creative and thoughtful of our little gals (a 22/23 year old, and 2 - 15 year old volunteers) in the kitchen!?!
Carrot cakes... yum! 8-)This is a demo being done...
This looks like a demo being done, but is actually...
... a chicken race, and the chicken that laid the chosen colored egg first wins the game! ...?... I know! We are a silly bunch! We burst out in song periodically too! 8-)
This work station was found like this quite often...
My gals, can you guess who's setup this was? LOL! 8-)
Hint: She put the sign up herself, is a wonderful seamstress, cracks us up laughing quite often, and is still in the learning process of quilting!!
Dl had the wonderful idea of bringing along her printer! We used it quite a bit! Thanks Dl!!! You are a peach!
This year's group... we missed you Sy!
Sy called Saturday morning to say she was feeling too rot
ten (sick) to join us... 8-(
We hope you are feeling better!
And finally, this is my purchase at Oma's Quilt Shop, where 9 of us, in 6 vehicles, made a stop on our way home... Needless to say we shocked a few people as we all drove up! lol! 8-)
A photo of the pattern, beside the dark background. The woodsy brown looking one and the red polka-dot fabrics are "to the stash fabrics", and all the fabrics in the lower row are for the applique (minus the blue in the one). I shall make another trip to find the boarder fabrics after I have done the applique...

Well, that is it for tonight!
So much for thinking I was going to make a short/quick post!!!
I hear my pillow calling me now...

Till tomorrow, happy stitchings everyone... 8-)

Oh, I love carrot cake and those look soooo good. I have the fabric in your first picture - the top one, the vineyards. I bought mine in California wine country. Go figure. Glad you all had a fun and productive weekend.

Love the idea of the chicken game!
I don't think I could have survived on the bunk beds with my back problems! Other than that, everything looks great.
