Peppermint Swirl Pincushion

While washing my SSs today, I made this Christmasy pincushion. You can find the pattern here on the Moda Bake Shop blog to make your own... I didn't have the crushed walnut shells to fill it with... Something I need to check out if they even sell up here.... I filled it with a bit of rice on the bottom for some weight, and bits of batting... 8-)

Remember those fund-raising bags that I made a month ago, for the Grandmother to Grandmother Campaign of the Stephan Lewis Foundation? These ladies have been selling the bags for a year now and have sold 935 with another 100 waiting...
That's incredible!!! 8-)

Happy stitchings!
Myra

Hiya Myra
That pincushion is just too cute! I'll have to jump over to Moda Bake Shop and get the pattern.

The pinkeep does look like a peppermint candy.

A super wow on those bags! 100 waiting and so many sold already.

Where I live in Pa you can get crushed walnut shells at pet supply stores. I think people use them for hamsters and such "little critters" homes (cages).
No matter what you stuffed it with, that is one cute pincushion!

Very cute and Christmassy. I wonder why walnut shells are recommended? I have heard of using that before but never why.
