Friend B, a sewer for years, has wanted to learn how to quilt for quite a while, so Saturday we got together to make a simple table topper...
A great project for learning on...
B picked from my "playful" Christmas fabrics. That is the top of the project on the spare table I set up for her...
I should have taken a photo of B with her machine...
Next weekend, she will come over to learn how to put the layers together, machine quilt, and maybe even get to the binding...
We were going to do some machine applique (like I did on this project and this project) too, but we feel that there is enough happening visually...
Will show you the completed table topper when B is done! 8-)
Another quilter in the making!!!
Happy stitchings!

What a special friend you are ,isn't it great to have someone to share your love of quilting with .
What a great beginner project...I clicked on it to see it enlarged...and it looks very nice! How kind of you to do this with her. I'm sure she is very happy about this!
yep, another quilter is born :^)
Good for you, infecting another person with the quilting bug. There can't be too many of us.
And does she ever have a wounderful teacher!!! It will be a beautiful project!
Question: when you do table toppers, do you use batting or flannel as the filler??
I have heard flannel lays flatter and is a nice thing to use. Just woundering......
How wonderful to pass along the art!
Its fun spreading the quilting bug.
