Quilt Night...

It was another Crescentwood Quilt Night today. While loading photos for this post I realized that I never show you all what I usually work on when I go to my quilt gatherings!!! So, here I show you "my stuff". 8-)

I am not one to cart my Pfaffy around with me very often... I find it a pain, so I usually do hand work when out. I have been working on a hexagon quilt for about 3 years now. I don't work on it at home, it is strictly for "grab & go". Pictured here are 5 blocks of 10 hexagons each. I haven't taken out all my blocks in a long while, but I think I may have enough blocks now to make 1/2 of a queen size quilt... I shall have to take a look sometime soon! Most of the fabrics are from scraps, and fabrics that I had used many moons ago to make my girl's dresses, skirts, pants, and short sets when they were 3 to 10 years old.... 8-)
This is Sd's quilt. Her hubby is in on her craft, as he does all the cutting for her... Kewl hey?! This quilt is ready for quilting, but Sd's sewing machine decided it needed a break, thus it is gone to Mr-Fix-It... We are wondering what she will come up with to work on/with at our weekend retreat?...hmmmmm...? Quilt looking good Sd!!! 8-)
Friend Pg has been digging around in her "stuff" and finding a lot of UFOs (PHDs) that she has forgotten about... Apparently it is all my fault as I've been on my UFO kick this past year... LOL!!! This was just a trial layout of the blocks... Pg is thinking of something different. We shall see what she comes up with! Your flowers look great Pg! 8-)
Looking through my "stuff" this afternoon to see what projects I will be bringing to the retreat this weekend, I came across a large amount of florals that I got from my cousin LiaL. Thanks cous!!! Anyway, I layed them out like this and thought that perhaps using them in a future Bargello would be good. Tonight the gals said they looked fine, but that I need to add some with bigger prints, geometrics, or/and plaids.... We shall see what I can find... 8-)
Gail from blog Samadhi had asked me to post more photos of my fur-girls. So here are a few... First 2 is Ruby now, and Ruby at 6 weeks old..

These 2 are Ruby and Dora in the middle of play, and Ruby the pocket pug...after 1 week I could not fit her in the housecoat pocket anymore...

These 2 are Dora now, and Dora with my past pug Kasza. Gosh I still miss her. She was a sweety. Deaf, blind in one eye, and a host of other problems, but she was wonderful... She passed at age 4 and a half...

Earlier today I was looking through a blog of another male quilter, Charlie at It's Just Me and came across this post of a poster. Too funny!!! 8-) From there I hopped on over to another male artist and quilter's blog, Gene Black an Alabama Artist. Check them out!

Good Morning Myra! Beautiful projects everyone is working on. I love the one your daughter is doing. Maybe I'll see if I can talk my husband into cutting fabric for me...or maybe I'll just let him keep my computer up and running! That's a better idea!

Those dogs are sure cute...faces only a mother could love! :)

That poster on Charlies'blog is hilarious and his comments are so fitting.
Your handwork is looking good.
See you at the retreat.

Those florals look delicious. There aren't that many florals in the shops these days it seems. I made a quilt of all florals a couple of years ago and it had a really nice old fashioned look. Mine was boxes from one of Karla Alexander's Stack a Deck books.

Oh boy more bloggers to check out, thanks for the links Myra!
I think you have no choice but to figure out today what you're bringing to the retreat; only 1 more sleep as I type this....
