..... QUILTING FOREVER, HOUSEWORK WHENEVER .....

Over the past weekend...

I took my Mystery quilt top off my display wall, as it had been hanging there long enough...
...and replaced it with what I've managed to get done at the quilt retreat. Still sewing the rows...
I call this "Birthday Purples", because I received all the purple FQs for my last 2 birthdays, from my CCC quilt group. Thanks ladies!!! 8-)
You can see it is way too big for my display wall!! I wondered (and still wonder) if I should make 2 lap quilts? Or keep going in this direction, for a queen size quilt for our guest room... I am wondering if it even needs the borders!?! It is huge! LOL!

Before I went to the retreat this past weekend, I stopped at a couple fabric shops. In the first photo here, I went looking for more of the fabrics I used in the table topper top, shown on the left, to make another side-table topper. Sadly, I could not find the big leaf fabric, so found something that could work...
At the other shop I bought some flannel to make myself some new PJs...
And at both shops I bought that stuff known as "PUL", used to make diapers. The first I bought is very thin, and the second one is much more of what I had expected, as you can see here.
I'll make a couple of diapers with them both, and see how they stand up for our little TJ... 8-)

Happy stitching!
Myra

Great fabric for comie jammies! And that purple quilt - how nice will that be when it's on the bed and you can snuggle under it in your jammies - I say keep going!

Hi Myra: fun purple quilt. I'm off to the same camp for a quilt retreat tomorrow -- anything special I should bring, other than the usual carload of sewing stuff? extension cords? Ott Lite?

I don't know the purpose of somthings you bought so now I have to google to find out.

I love your purchases! The purple quilt looks great. I think you should leave it huge and use it in the guest room.

I am thinking your beautiful birthday purple quilt would be great in the guest room as a queen sized masterpiece of your work!!

I like how bright and happy it is!! And I really like the fabric in your table topper - very pretty. Now, I wounder if I can find any of it here?? ;-)

And you make PJ's!!! perfect!! I have not done that in years - and I should!! I used to love sewing for myself and having people ask me where I got it from. The looks I got when I told them 'Fabricland' was fun!!!
Although, I never got asked that about jammies!!!

hmmmm PUL is new to me. I just had diapers made of flannel.... it will be interesting to see how the diapers turn out. I am thinking the 2nd fabric would be better too....

And I have seen finishes done with your mystery pattern!! That is fun to see!!!

and I don't think the purple wounder needs borders. (it's a wounder because I am woundering what you are going to do with it - 1 quilt or 2 laptops...)

Happy Sewing!!

I figure if it doesn't need a border, don't put one on. It's a wonderful quilt. Love the colours.
