I took my Mystery quilt top off my display wall, as it had been hanging there long enough...
Before I went to the retreat this past weekend, I stopped at a couple fabric shops. In the first photo here, I went looking for more of the fabrics I used in the table topper top, shown on the left, to make another side-table topper. Sadly, I could not find the big leaf fabric, so found something that could work...
...and replaced it with what I've managed to get done at the quilt retreat. Still sewing the rows...
I call this "Birthday Purples", because I received all the purple FQs for my last 2 birthdays, from my CCC quilt group. Thanks ladies!!! 8-)
You can see it is way too big for my display wall!! I wondered (and still wonder) if I should make 2 lap quilts? Or keep going in this direction, for a queen size quilt for our guest room... I am wondering if it even needs the borders!?! It is huge! LOL!

At the other shop I bought some flannel to make myself some new PJs...
And at both shops I bought that stuff known as "PUL", used to make diapers. The first I bought is very thin, and the second one is much more of what I had expected, as you can see here.
I'll make a couple of diapers with them both, and see how they stand up for our little TJ... 8-)
Happy stitching!

Wow, your purple quilt has grown! It looks great. Good job on the mystery quilt. It sure kept me guessing!
Great fabric for comie jammies! And that purple quilt - how nice will that be when it's on the bed and you can snuggle under it in your jammies - I say keep going!
Hi Myra: fun purple quilt. I'm off to the same camp for a quilt retreat tomorrow -- anything special I should bring, other than the usual carload of sewing stuff? extension cords? Ott Lite?
Now I did see the mystery quilt. But I don't mind;-)) It looks great. I finished step 3 now. As soon a I cut them into perfect squares I'll put a picture on my blog.
I don't know the purpose of somthings you bought so now I have to google to find out.
I love your purchases! The purple quilt looks great. I think you should leave it huge and use it in the guest room.
Great job on the quilts .I made the same table topper out of Christmas fabric .I also vote you keep going with the purple quilt it's great eye candy .
I am thinking your beautiful birthday purple quilt would be great in the guest room as a queen sized masterpiece of your work!!
I like how bright and happy it is!! And I really like the fabric in your table topper - very pretty. Now, I wounder if I can find any of it here?? ;-)
And you make PJ's!!! perfect!! I have not done that in years - and I should!! I used to love sewing for myself and having people ask me where I got it from. The looks I got when I told them 'Fabricland' was fun!!!
Although, I never got asked that about jammies!!!
hmmmm PUL is new to me. I just had diapers made of flannel.... it will be interesting to see how the diapers turn out. I am thinking the 2nd fabric would be better too....
And I have seen finishes done with your mystery pattern!! That is fun to see!!!
and I don't think the purple wounder needs borders. (it's a wounder because I am woundering what you are going to do with it - 1 quilt or 2 laptops...)
Happy Sewing!!
Myra I learn something every time I come here :-) WOw look at that quilt...
I won't gush, but WOW ! okay will gush a little... I am a purple person...

I'm still gushing, it like a quilt seen at an exhibition. WOW !
Freya sends her love NOT HER DIRTY PAWS :-) X X X
I'm back again to say orange and purple are great colours... cos I've now had another look........... deep and giving X
Both quilts are lovely , the purple quilt I would keep going for a queen size quilt for your guest room it would look fantastic.
I figure if it doesn't need a border, don't put one on. It's a wonderful quilt. Love the colours.
The solving of the mystery looks great. I luv the purples.
Lovely work, I like that purple quilt without borders.
