Fur-girl Ruby and help!!!

Well, I took Ruby out into the cold to the vets this morning... Sweater on, jacket on, and she was still shivering in the van... lol!
Just in case you think I am one of those that dresses her dogs in cute little outfits, this is as far as I go... A guy at the vets asked where her boot were... Don't have any...
Ruby is going back to the vets on Thursday, along with Dora... The vet has to sedate R to get a needle into her lump to extract some cells for testing, without hurting her. She is to wriggly and uncooperative, and being it is on her face, it will be done this way. IF the lump is cancerous they will remove it right away, since she is "under/out" anyway... Hopefully it is not cancerous, but something that the vet says that some dogs get, and then it goes away on its own...
I found a lump on Dora's back when I was petting her last night, so we might as well get that checked out too right away, but she doesn't need to be sedated!
They can both stay at the vets for 3-4-5 hours while I go to Wonky Bits...

I need some opinions...
First photo
has the block
I want to make
for our friend's
comfort quilt...
3 photos with
the fabrics I am
pondering...
Been playing
with them and
switching them
around...
A light bkgd, and
a black bkgd...

Do any of you
have any thoughts?
or a preference?

I would appreciated some... 8-)

Hi Myra,
I like fabric set # 1.
I hope everything goes well for Ruby at the Vets, and the news is good.

I like #1 best, also...as I like the background fabric the best in that one and also I like that gold. I don't really care for the dark as a background for that block...BUT...that is just personal preference. Go with what YOU would want if the block was being made for you.

My daughter, who kept scrolling up and down, thinks #2 is the one you should do!!

I showed her what you were doing and she kept checking out the pics and finally said - #2 is the best.

Me, I am still trying to figure out what I would do.

And she likes the light backgrounds better than the black, so it's good that that is a decision that you don't have to make!!!

I like the first pic...... Hmmm how 'bout #4 but ..... what I am thinking is having the yellow be the star points..... lol!!! Yup, #1 is doing what I was thinking of!!

Aw poor Ruby~ is shaking because she's cold, or has she figured out that she is going to the vet and is nervous? Maybe she'll be happier with Dora along. ;-) I like #3. The blue paisley with the floral doesn't seem to work for me, so I picked the option without it. ;-) Whatever you decide will be treasured because it is made with love. Happy Stitchin'!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the furgirls, and Ruby looks so cute in her little coat - almost like she's getting ready to rev up the motocycle.
Re fabric combos, my vote is for #1.

Yep, another vote for #1.

Wishing you a good report for your girls.

At first glance I thought #3 but after seeing so many #1s I went back for another look. Now I am torn...Part of it is that the lighting on #3 is brighter...I'm sure whichever you chose will look wonderful.

The lumps are probably nothing serious. Before she died at the ripe old age of 17, my Buffy (a small black dog of questionable extraction) had had several different types of skin "issues". She had a fatty tumor on her chest the size of an egg and multiple little pebbles on her nipples that we worried were breast cancer; they weren't. Our Saint Bernard used to get skin nodules at vaccination injection sites. Your Ruby and Dora are gorgeous and I bet they're going to both be just fine!

Happy quilting,
Susan
