Another day with my parents...

Hello all... I've made efforts to catch up on my friendly blogs reading, but have fallen short of concentration and energy... Sorry about that. Will try some more this week...

I spent the day with my parents again. Mom isn't sleeping very well at night and very uncomfortable. Her knee/leg has swelled and bruised further, keeping her from bending it as far as she did at the hospital before leaving. We are hoping this will not be a big problem for when she starts her physio some time during the week of the 8th... I suggested she take two Tylenol 3s before bed, instead of one, for maybe a better sleep...
We shall see tomorrow if it helped...

Tomorrow is a quilt night, and I do need to be at this meeting. We will be discussing what guidelines we want to follow, and get started on our Row Robin Project. There is 9 of us participating, so this should be interesting... We are all very excited about it! 8-)

Since every post needs a photo (though I think I may have posted this when I first started blogging.,,) I leave you with a creation of my aunt's. It reads "Eat More Fruit" in Dutch... She made this when she was 17 years old. Sick for a whole year... Don't recall what it was that she had...
My guess is, that it is about 60 years old now... I picked it up quickly when my cousin set it aside in the"not to keep pile" after my aunt died... I thought it made a very nice keepsake for in my sewing room.. 8-)

Hope you are all having a wonderfully productive week!
Myra

PS: In case you are interested in hearing my voice (like I am of you), check out my previous post...

Glad you kept that cute little stitchery. That does make for a nice addition to the sewing studio.

Hope that your mom can get a little more comfortable.

It's amazing what people will get rid of. I think it's beautiful and the history behind it makes it a family keepsake alone. Glad you rescued it.

I love what your Aunt had made!!! And that is very precious memory of her too!! I know I have a table cover that my Grandma made - it is crochet, but not a doily thing, I don't know what type of stich it is, but I love it!!!!

And I really hope your Mom is doing better tomorrow. DO NOT LET HER DO TO MUCH!!!!!!!! And this is probably the problem here - she's home now, and she might be doing things she shouldn't!! My mom is like that - won't listen, and had to have the same opertaion a couple times because she would not rest enough! But you gotta love 'em. I really hope she gets the rest she needs. That is when her body will really get busy healing, awake, it has to many other things to do - so common "mom" get some sleep. I hope the tylenol 3 do the trick.

You are in my thoughts and prayers, you all are. So, I hope the quilt meet gives you a nice break and you get the rules all worked out and mostly, have fun!!!

I'm glad you rescued that piece your aunt made. Sorry your mom is having sleeping problems and a knee that is swelling up more. Let's hope it's all a thing of the past soon and she will be much better as each day goes by.

What a wonderful little quilt! I would have snatched it up too! Sorry to read about mom not doing so well. Yep, take 3 tylenol! I will do that when I need a good nights sleep. I prefere it over a Tylenol PM, I think it's less of a hangover the next day. At least for me. Keep your chin up dearie, we are all pulling for ya! Know it gotta be tough, but you are a darling daughter!

I did check out your voice and it sounded great. I have been told I have a youthful voice too. It comes in handy when telemarketers call and ask for my parents. The wall hanging is gorgeous. Lucky for you, she did not appreciate its value.

Missed the voice monday but I catched up! Impressive amount of snow and your voice sounds rather pleasant to listen too actually :)
Read blogs if you want too and answer emails if they're urgent: you have more important things on your mind right now. All the best with your Mum!

Is Tyelenol the only pain med your mother is taking? She needs something stronger.

Your aunt's project is very cute! It has a 50's look to it.

It is so nice to have a memory of your aunt. Is your mom using ice packs? Sometimes, they help more than the ice machine. I hope that she is able to get the pain under control. Please remember to take care of you also.

What a wonderful treasure to have in that little needlework - so nice to have the reminder of memories. Praying for your mom's quick recovery.

Just thought I'd comment about your mum's pain. I had knee replacement almost two years ago now. I'm thinking she may not be taking pain killers regularly through the day and whwen she wakes in the night. Personally I would never take 2 Tylenol 3. But I would take one every four hours or a little earlier when there is breakthrough pain. Be forewarned that the tylenol 3 will really 'bung' her up too so be sure to be looking care of that side of things too. I had night time pain which is what wakes you for quite a few weeks and took tylenol 3 until I didn't need them anymore which was awhile in regards to getting through the night. Don't know if this helps but lots of people don't recognize discomfort as when it is time to take the pain killer versus when you can't stand it any more. Blessings
