Harry Potter and other movies seen...

Boy it has been quiet on my blog hasn't it? Just not into the blogging lately... Don't know why, but I guess a break is needed...

On Sunday DS took me out for lunch, and then to the movie theater to see the new Harry Potter film. I must say we were very disappointed in it. The book gave so much lead info into why/what happens in the final book, and the movie did not do that part justice. Then they left out the majority of the big ending too... I am sure that those that do not read the books, and only watch the movies will be some confused... I know that they can't put everything from the book into the movie, but we were left feeling let down... Ah well, we know the story thank goodness... It was a very nice afternoon spent with DS... 8-)

DH and I went out for a Chinese dinner (won't be going to that restaurant again) on Monday, and then went to rent some movies. These are the one's I picked out, DH picked out one's that I wouldn't/didn't watch...

"Mall Cop" was goofy, but entertaining, and "New in Town" was good! I love movies with Renee Zellweger.

I think I should make a list of all the movies I'd like to see, so that when I go to rent one, I can just pull one from on my list. I normally don't remember titles, so this would be good...

New header I see. Don't feel guilty about not posting. Take a break and post when something comes to you. Gee, I don't think my sons would take mom out to a show - lucky you. Who paid?
How's the hollyhocks coming? I really liked that pattern.

Fun times with the family, Myra! Whenever someone says "have you seen this or that movie?" I always have to ask my husband if I've seen it. Then I have to ask him if I liked it! I can never remember, probably because I don't actually look at the TV screen much when I'm 'watching' a movie. Too busy with my handwork! I feel like it's such wasted time if I don't produce something while sitting there!

Nice to hear from you again!

Hi Myra!
My son's girlfriend is a big Harry fan (reads all the books the instant they come out) and she was disappointed in the latest movie too.
I also like Renee, I will need to see that movie, thanks for sharing.

I saw New Town not long ago! I really enjoyed it -- though thought a lot of the character/relationship development pieces must have ended up on the editing room floor...

Good idea to make a movie list...I used to do that and then stopped (not for any good reason). Now when I go to rent a movie, I'm at a loss about what to choose. The list prevented that.

I think movies often disappoint you when you have read the book behind it. I seldom see movies made after books. I prefer the books. I have heard this about the newest Harry Potter movie.

Hi Myra!! Making a list of what I want to rent at the store is what I have been doing for the past little bit. I see a trailer or a commercial for one that I think I might like and it gets written on my white board!! That way, I won't forget because sometimes, you don't see another add for it and when you see it, it doesn't ring a bell. Like when I was in Kelowna, my sis does not have TV - so I went to the store to find something. Well, on the sale rack was a movie called "the visitor".... I kept picking it up... nothing triggered me, I just kept looking at it. Well, I did buy it, and when I told my DD what I had done, she laughed and told me I had it on my list at home!! Ends up, we all enjoyed it - but honestly I couldn't remember why or how it got on the list, but I was glad it did!!

And I enjoyed "New in Town" too!! mall cop was funny, but not one I would have picked!! lol!! And I am glad I am not the only not blogging lately.

here is to a great summer, what's left of it and a glorous fall with all kinds of insperation coming our way, considering we have each been having a sanity break!!! here is to the best of the seaon and more to come!!! ;-)

Love the new header.
I'd heard the new Harry Potter wasn't up to much so I've kept away. I'm not a film lover really so that's no real difficulty. I'm sorry that you were disappointed though.

Love and hugs Gina xxx
