We're back! 8-)

Back from another weekend of sewing, food, fun, and laughter... and some sleep! 8-)

We all know that "something" always gets "forgotten" at home... Well, I found out real fast what that was for me this time! As soon as I was setting up my work station I discovered that I had forgotten to attach my accessory tray (after removing the acrylic extension table) before putting the cover on for travel. Duh!!! Friend Jr came to my rescue!! 8-)
Although her tray did not "fit" my machine, we got creative so it would work... Thank goodness!!! Thanks a bunch Jr!!! You are my hero! 8-)

This weekend I finished piecing the "Picket Fences" that I started at our Feb retreat, and got them all put together, but I got stalled at the point of boardering it. Seems I need to find some dark purple for an small inner boarder, before adding the fabrics I had planned for the outer boarder...
I had used a Batik jelly roll, and a meter of the light Batik, which gave me 22 x 12.5" blocks. 20 used in the top, and the other 2 will be made into a pillow. I was happy I got this part done... 8-)

I bought a charm pack from one of the vendor tables to make an Envelop Bag (similar to this) that one gal had demoed for us... I managed to get the top done for it this morning...
I brought along a charm pack to put together for another bag (such as this) that I had been planning to make for a long time. I got this one done quick before we had to leave the retreat...
And of course, I have to show you my candy I bought! 8-)
Besides the charm pack mentioned already, this is all that I bought...
Click on the photo for a closer look...

Did you notice the Jelly Bargello? I managed to find that pattern and the gal beside me gasped at it, and I hugged it too me, but I did find another in the basket for her. Funny, mine was marked $1 cheaper than her's. Any way, we challenged each other to have "at least" the tops done for the next annual retreat out there... Nothing like putting a fire under your own butt!!! lol! 8-)

Imagine my excitement, while driving home, just thinking about the changes my DH was making to my sewing room while I was gone... only to come home to this...8-(
(Check my previous post to see how the room looked when I left for the retreat...)

Disappointed? Yes... Mad? No... Seems DH had a few visitors he hadn't seen in a long while, some "refreshments", and some catching up...etc. Our dear darling daughters were home too when I walked in the door, and I just missed seeing my sonnyboy...

DH is working in my sewing room right now as I type... He may get part of it done tonight... 8-)
I will check up on all your blogs tomorrow morning, as well as post some Sew & Tell photos at some point...

Love your projects...especially that quilt with the batiks. I have quite a collection of batiks and need to start doing something with them soon. My problem is deciding what to do with them. I'm wanting nice but EASY. LOL

Welcome home Myrna. I love the colours of your batik jelly roll quilt. The pattern you used really shows up the lovely fabrics. Sounds like you had fun. BTW, you may want to check on some of the tutorials listed on your site. I tried to access the Bali Pop/Jelly Roll Quilt and was informed that the blog has been removed. :-(

Can anyone say "Productive". Boy you certainly were on this retreat. I especially LOVE the "Picket Fence" quilt, although for the life of me, I can't see how this name came about. Looks like friendship stars to me. Great purchases as well. A-hem, feel free to host a challenge (anything, just think of something) and offer up the tea theme panels as the prize. I bet you'll get lots of responses. [If you think I'm coveting those panels you're right, and you can't knock a girl for trying to get them. LOL]

Love, love, love the picket fence quilt!!!! Where do I find the pattern!!!! And can I come to the reatreat next yr too???!! lol!! I am glad you are home and that you will now have input on the set up your new oasis!! (that is the 'real' reason it didn't get done! He wanted it perfect for you!!)
Have a great Monday!! And try to relax and get some much needed sleep, if I am remebering my retreat that I was on correctly!!

You sure worked hard!
Perhaps it's better DH's working in your room while you're at home.
Just in case the changes don't turn out the way you thought they would, you can make alternate plans..
