My Wednesday Quilt night!

Once a month we miss out on using our usual gathering place due to the Community Club having their monthly meeting. Some times quilt friend Bb invites us to come to her Sewing Machine Shop at those times, which is fairly close by... Last night was one of those times, and I ended up buying some goodies while there...

I found some lovely brown and pink FQs, some Sulky 100% polyester invisible thread (I had borrowed Pg's at the retreat and loved it!), and a dark purple batik to use as the inner boarder for my Picket Fences quilt. I believe it will work quite well... 8-)

A few of our gals teach classes at Bb's shop, and hanging up on the wall there is Jr's YoYo table topper that she will be teaching... I think? Unless it is just hanging there for show and promoting the Clover YoYo maker... 8-)

Bb's daughter is also a sewer, and made this lovely quilt that is hanging there. Love those fabrics! 8-)

Jr left the shop, and forgot her 100m ball of stuff (can't recall what it is called) to make her fabric bowls. She is making these little bowls to hold candy at the guilds International Day event coming up in April... This red bowl was made by Vf last night...

These bowls were made by Bb and used around the shop and for samples. I bought myself 9m of this "stuff" to try my hand at making a fabric bowl... we shall see how that goes! 8-)

If not laying around in the sun in the living room, this is where the fur-girls lay while I'm doing things in my sewing room. Furry sidekicks! 8-)

Have any of you ever tried Rolo Ice-cream? Mmmmmm.... my fave!!! 8-)

Now, time got get something done today...

I was doing fine reading that post up until you brought out the Rolo ice cream! Never had it, but now I will have to be on the lookout for it on sale! I love Rolo's and ice cream, so the combination must be irresistible! Just what I (don't) need!

Nice fabric too. I've seen those bowls and how to make them before, but haven't tried to do it myself. I'll be interested to see what you have to say about the process.

I love Rolo ice cream Myra! I was sorry I couldn't stay last night to visit longer. DD's birthday was good
though. I think you'll be very happy with that purple for the inner border.

Myra, isn't that clothsline cording for the bowls??
Anyway, they look great. I could see them holding samples and stuff in a store. (I could see them holding junk and clutter in my house so.... I would make 'em as gifts for others - to hold their clutter!!) Oh, bathroom stuff!! That would be a good place to have one of the bowls.... now I am going to have to think about possibly making one of these.... !

Are those rolo things like little balls in the container? If they are, my daughter bought them and they are good! easy to eat the whole thing yourself!!
And it's nice that you have an alternative place to meet - but she is not a dumb bunny letting you all meet in her store.... what did you bring home with you last night??? ;-)

But I would have done the exact same thing. I have fought with invisible thread before, so I might have to find the stuff you mentioned and give it another try...... thanks for the tip on the thread.
Have a great Thursday - and I hope you are sewing!! Me, I am going to go throw my laundry in the dryer and get some stress relief in my sewing room myself... sometimes I wish my 14 yr old wouldn't come home at lunch time...... okay, enough said. Make that machine do it's magic!!

Why am I just finding out now that Rolo's has ice cream? Is this new? Have people been HIDING this from me??? :) Love the items you photographed and showed here, Myra!

I really love your new fabrics. Now I have a yen to go fabric shopping! Or maybe ice cream will do the trick. Either way I'll have some fat quarters. Lol.

Firstly - I'm glad I'm lactose intolerant, so no desire to try the ice cream, even though I have a sweet tooth. Secondly - love your new fabric - someday, I want to make a brown and pink quilt. Thirdly - the furgirls are spoiled! (Their own pillow beds in the sun.) I think they have you wrapped around their paws. LOL
