Friday Fixings...

I was working on my Picket Fences quilt today. My "left-over blocks" that I thought to make a pillow out of, got ripped apart and added to the quilt. I had just enough to add another strip to the width. Then I ironed my boarder fabrics for prep.

My pre-cut 1m(39") of boarder print that I bought months ago along with my jelly roll at a quilt show vendor table ended up not being a full meter!!! Am I impressed? NOT! I was already hoping that it would be "just enough" to get an outer boarder out of it. Now I have even less to work with!!! The piece was cut at 34"!!! That is a very big difference from the 39" it should be!!!

*** Lesson here: Check the cut at the vendor table before purchasing in the future! Please, learn from my error and check for yourself too... 8-(

So, now I need to improvise. Get creative in the boarder corners maybe? Corner stones, or something? Sure wish I had an EQ program today! 8-/

I forgot to mention the other day, I FINALLY shortened 2 pairs of jeans and took in 2 "stretchy" tank tops that I bought almost a year ago. Nothing like rushing to get things done hey!?!?! Yup! That is about my speed... lol!

Peek-a-Boo! My little monster under my ratty old chair, and she is making it more so. Naughty little fur-girl Ruby!!!

The weather is finally warming up, so now I can take my bored girls outside for walks again... The grass is even starting to peek through... 8-)

That be it for today! Back to my boarder problems! ...?... and thoughts about PIF... and another finish for March maybe... 8-)

Your quilt is beautiful. Sorry to here about your So-called metre of material. Not good at all. Hope you can work something out.

Can you possibly get more of this fabric???? That is more than frustrating...... oh, that is ... well, you know.

I love the look of this quilt!! Is that the pattern name - Picket Fence?? I might have to look it up.... (like I need another patten to put on my future projects list!! but it is sooooooo pretty!!!!)

And I am a little jealous here! you have grass finding it's way out of the snow????? Me, not at all!!! And we are expecting more of the white stuff!!! Don't the clouds know it's spring down here now??? lol!!
So have a great walk with your fur babies and make the best of the weekend while you search for more of the fabric (ebay is good I've heard...) What is PIF??? hmmmm :-)

A girl of your talents will find a way out of this - great quilt! Enjoy your Spring! My PIFs are on the back burner until the dust settles - though I do have a great ideas in mind!

The quilt shown in your header is beautiful!
I am like you. Alterations on clothing is certainly not high on my list of getting done. I used to sew clothes for my family. Now I can't think about doing it. I am short and often have to shorten pants. I just have to make myself do it.

Don't you just hate when that happens ,good luck I hope you are able to find more fabric but if not you'll figure something out .

Find another piece of that fabric if you can. Cornerblocks might work, but I think I like it better without. Great colours btw.
A lesson I learnt is to always buy a little more than you need so there's room for errors..

That's so annoying to find you are short of fabric like that. That's how vendors lose their reputation.
Lets hope the weather stays warm with no flooding!
