Busy in the sewing-room...

Happy St.Patty's Day to our Irish friends! 8-)

At our Country Rose quilt gathering tonight, Gk brought along a yummy cake, of course with green icing, and the plates to go with it! Thanks Gk! 8-)

No Show/Sew & Tell to post from the gals, and I just worked on my hexagons again...

I spent the day in the sewing room today. Not sewing, but getting things somewhat organized.

DH did get my 2 new work surfaces up on Sunday night. Yay! But come Monday, I spent the day on my butt. Recuperating from the retreat, and catching up in Blogland! lol! 8-)

See the awful legs DH put up? Hopefully they will be replaced shortly, but it serves the purpose for now. My cutting surface stands at 40"!!! I hope it is not too high!

So, today I looked through my stuff and found a spot for most things... for now, and will be able to work in there... 8-)

Best thing of all, the comp/TV/sewing machines are now all in one room... I could be in there for days!!! lol!

Yup! That's my sewing room! Nothing fancy! Cluttered? Yes! Functional? Yes! Mine? Yes, yes!!! 8-)

Penny, of Nine Patches Quilty World brought my attention to this BOM over at Grandma's Kitchen, that started a few months ago. The website is in Dutch. Very cute! Thanks Penny! 8-)

Now, it is time to go get my bag of chips and can of coke, and lay myself on the couch to watch Biggest Looser: Couples! Hehehe evil grin.... 8-)

There is nothing better than a sewing room that is all yours. Having sewn in a corner of the kitchen for years and years I know whereof I speak.

Great sewing space. Sewing in the sunshine - can't get much better than that.

Myra, do you have an IKEA close by? When my sewing room (now it's called a studio) got remodelled a while ago I got a new table top (comes in different sizes and finished) and new legs. These legs are adjustable and even if your floor is a bit wonky, your surface stays straight. Put them to any height whatsoever, easy to install and adjust and nice looking. I'm 5'3" and my cutting table surface is 34" off the floor. The legs are a bit pricey (about $60 bucks for all 4) but worth it. They sell the fixed height legs too that are lots cheaper (maybe $20 for 4) but as my DH said, you're only going to do this once.

It must be good to cut fabric when the working space is so high. I always eat candy when I watch Biggest loser :)
