A New Toy...

I shouldn't even be getting more new toys, because I am still not
fully "bonded" with my new camera yet!! LOL!! Yeesh!
We need this new toy to stay in touch, through email, with my adult chillens when
we are on the move down south... Especially since my middle DD's
baby #2 is due at the beginning of April!!!

Back to getting a baby quilt done for this coming Sunday.
The baptism of a friend's baby...

Back from another retreat...

Had a wonderful time! A group of seven we were this time...
Good food, good company, many laughs...

For some reason I didn't take many photos, as I was busy stitching lots!!

On the left is friend LS' Lattes quilt. Love the fabrics!! On the right is my Hidden Spools.
I had planned to add the borders also, but seemed to be missing the fabric for the inner
border in my box of supplies for the weekend... shucks!!!
I did however make good strides on my D9-P that I had shown in this post... at the bottom.

Showing our wonderful Manitoba snow. It was about 4 feet high on each side of the road!!!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend too!!

Happy stitching!

Borders are finally on!!! Yippeeeeee.....

On my Row Robin...
Another step closer to a finish!

It's too big for my display wall even! Single bed size.. 67x89

Wondering which you think I should bind it with?
1.)  The border print? Which would be my choice...
2.)  Or the blue I used for the flange?

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!

Flange and Border on!

UFO "Very Green" done, and goes to my PhD pile now...
Feels great getting this quilt top done and off my UFO list.

On to putting the flange and borders onto my Row Robin UFO,
and then get my D9-P blocks put together...

Supper bell calling...

Have a great weekend!

Very Green

A 4-Patch Posie I made last Spring... But since I haven't been blogging that
much this past year, you haven't seen it yet... Tis very green for sure!!!
Measures 40" x 48" right now...

This is the fabric it is cut from.
I just have to add a flange of red, and outer border to finish this quilt top.
Debating which red fabric to use right now.

Still working on my D9-Patches.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Row Robin, D9-Patch, Bits & Pieces...

I've been doing a paper-pieced row to add to my Row Robin project, that
I showed in the previous post. Odd size pieces, thus the paper-piecing.
I added the new row to the others...
Now I am pondering my borders, and debating if "my blue" is close enough
to go with the blues that my friend's added in.
Also showing a new book... I haven't really had a good sit with it yet,
but a quick glance through it looked very promising.

While pondering my Row Robin borders today, I've been working on
my D9-P project that I started a year or two ago.... I'm using up quite
a few old fabric yardages and FQs, mostly small florals.

This afternoon I put some of the "bits & pieces" together that were too
small to cut into charms for the 9-Patches that I start with. A bit more
fussing, but I wanted to use it all up.
Tonight I put more 9-Patches together...
Halfway through getting all that done.
I just need another productive day of sewing, ironing, and cross cutting
my 9-Patches, to be ready to play with all the blocks on my display wall...

Busy days coming up... Mom to physio, Mom's 73rd B-Day visit, BIL's 55th B-Day visit,
Mom to X-rays/6-wk Doc appointment, etc, etc... Mom is doing really well with her
new knee. Much better than her first experience with this 2 years ago..

Well, have a great weekend everyone!
Happy stitching!

iRobot - Poomba

Look what DH came home with yesterday!!
Time to read the instructions and charge the battery!

In the process of getting some of my PhDs done. First up is my Row Robin Project that I did with 9 other gals. You will note the changes I've made in some of my rows, as one did not measure properly, and the other I split in half, which I think looks great, and added another row of flying geese...
Only one of us has fully finished their quilt. I have to make one more row to balance it out, and put the boarders on. So that is my thing to do over the next couple days.
Hope you are all keeping well!

Back to the sewing machine...

Photo issues with Blogger...?

Hello blogging friends!

I have a question for you, that I hope someone can answer. I have a private group blog with my quilting gals, and many of them cannot access the photos in their personal computer files. They click on the photo icon on the "new post" page, and everything comes up except the "choose files" option that would bring them to their own photos... Anyone know what that is about?

Would sure appreciate some feedback about this...

Thanks,
Myra

Poor quality photo, but I set in a better photo of my fabrics in the corner.
DH will have a new quilt soon!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, and that
2013 has seen you all off on a good start so far...

Got It!!

 My new camera!!! Finally!!
Its nothing fancy... I wanted a smaller one this time. We will see how it goes...

I made our twins their Christmas stockings earlier in the month.
DD1 wanted something from the Nativity on them.
I delivered them to their Wisconsin farm this past weekend.
A whirl-wind quick visit before Christmas.
Only 10 hours driving, one way... LOL!!

DD1 sent along a turtle outfit for our TJ. She knows how much our DD2 likes turtles...
TJ thought he looked great, and he does!! lol...
Well, we see how I've dropped the ball with posting twice a week... Sigh...
Lets see if I can make it up. Tomorrow I will post some photos from our November Retreat...

Enjoy to season people!

The Newly Committed...

... Meaning that my friend K (Quilter Going Bananas) and I have committed to posting on our blogs twice a week till the new year, and possibly more in 2013... Haven't we K!?!  ;)
We both seem to have fallen off the radar of keeping up with our blogging... Me more-so...

I just looked at my blog and realize that I only have 11 (now 12) posts up for 2012!!! Wow! That is terrible!! I seem to have lost some followers too. My fault for dropping the ball...

Now, having committed to posting more, I leave you with a couple of photos of our grand-baby-boys, and mention that they will have another little one to play with this coming April...
Yup!! When it rains, it pours!!!

Our DD#2's TJ... Turned 1 in September.
Soon to have a sibling...
Our DD#1's twins, F & D. Seven months old at months end.
I also leave a photo of what I was cutting up yesterday.
Prep work for our quilt retreat next weekend...
I have a few things from this year to post about in the next couple of months...

I hope all is well with you and yours, and I am sorry I haven't kept my friends and family
"in the know", nor been keeping up with everyone's blogs...

Happy quilting!

Our twins...

 Just checking in...

Thought I would share a couple photos of our new grandson's.
Here I am holding them for the first time, 26 days old. Just out of NICU.
Two days before bringing them home with DD1.
I stayed with them for 2 weeks to help, and will be going down again sometime in July.
DD1 has some wonderful friends coming out to help in the meantime...

Here is a more recent photo of our little guys that Great-Grandma took while visiting last week.
They are doing very well, and gaining weight steadily...
Do you think they are identical, or fraternal?
I think fraternal, but time will tell...

Here are the quilts I made for the little ones. Frogs and Bugs.
DD1 picked out the fabrics and pattern...

And let us not forget our first grandson, TJ.
He is slowly walking holding one hand, but motors along quite well when holding two,
and has 3 teeth now! Big boy is 9 months old...

Hope you are all doing well in your patches of the world...

Happy stitching!

Our Grandbaby Boys...

First let me say many thanks for all your comments of congrats! I so appreciate them! ;)
Sorry I haven't responded to them... A tad on the busy side in my patch of the world these days...

Thought I'd share some photos of our baby boys...

Here is TJ helping to spin lettuce dry...
7-months old
He is a busy boy now that he is crawling and walking around furniture...
Give him another couple months and he'll be walking on his own!!

This is baby FT, DD1's first born twin. The smaller of the two.
Here is baby DS, twin #two...
Both babes have recently been out of their incubators, but still in NICU, and doing well, but not ready to come home yet. Hopefully in another couple weeks.

DD1 is already finding it exhausting, and that is with the nurse's help!
I'll be going down south to help her when the three of them are ready to go home... I'm looking forward to that! I haven't seen the twins in person yet, but we are planning to set up Skype
to see them... If I can figure it out... ;)

Well, I've got two baby quilts to finish binding, and some receiving blankets to make now.
I will check in again soon... I hope! ;)

Happy stitching!

Our lives are ever changed and changing...

Hello blogging friends...

The author of the blog IS still alive and kicking...
Yup! Hanging in with all life throws us...

Just popping in to announce that this morning we became the proud grandparents to two more little boys... Which makes for 3 grandchildren now. Three boys...

F & D Farmer were born 6 weeks early, but are doing well. Both over 4 pounds...
Momma is tired but doing well, and Poppa is, I am sure, very happy...
This is my DD1 that moved to the USA, 12 hours away...

Still having "issues" with camera and photo program, thus no posts for a very long time... {I don't like doing posts without photos as you know}... and life seems to have a way of putting other priorities on us also...

I hope you are all doing well in your patches around the world...

Happy stitching!

Look at that! Myra posted something!!!

Hi all!!!

I went to a retreat this past weekend, and "got heck" (LOL) for not
blogging much, so, as promised to you SS, here is a post....

Went to the annual Carberry Retreat. I think this was my 6th or 7th
year attending. Always a good time!!! Thanks SS!!  ;)

Still having "issues" with my camera and photo program, so not all the "Sew & Tell"
photos taken at this retreat turned out, and thus I will only post some of them...

A 4-Patch Posy...
 LBs Dragon WIP..
 Friend LSs Shadows WIP...
LSs quilt top that she's donated now...
 D9-P
 Fall Sampler of sorts...
 Neat pattern...
 SSs Finish...
 Wonderful fabrics...
 Sampler...
 Scrap happy here...
 And finally mine..."Birthday Purples"
The colors are not true on the photo, and the purples in the outer border aren't showing
much at all... This is the "Hop Scotch" pattern... I used about 32 Purple FQs that I
received for my birthday from all my gals... I just kept making blocks till the
fabric was gone, and ended up with a 99"x111" quilt top...

Here is a close-up of the boarder/fabric...
I also worked on my pieced border that I am "winging it" for my Picket Fences PhD,
but it wasn't going very well, so it is not ready to show.... I have some "picking" I
need to do to fix a wobble problem.... :(

I also had big plans to sandwich and quilt the 2 baby quilts for my expected twin grand-boys, but time got away from me... Going on holidays with my cousins, with sewing machine and projects, so maybe I'll get them done soon... The guys will golf while the gals sew... ;)

Here is Mr Snookums and Dora. Made his way to Gamma's sewing room... ;)
TJ and his parents are staying with us for a couple of months due to a job change, but will be back home and working out their way when boss-man and family makes their way out there too...

DD1, pregnant with the twins is doing fine, but very uncomfortable already.
Babies due in early June... Will visit with them on the way home from holidays with cousins...

For all you wonderful bloggers that have been "checking in" on me, all is well,
just busy and not much time for blogging/visiting right now...

Never a dull moment...

Take care!
Happy stitching!
