Mom's on the internet, and Dad's ouchie...

Yesterday I spent the day with Mom, her new laptop of 2 weeks, oversaw things with the guy who did her internet hookup, and spent some time getting her a bit familiar with email and such... Seems it was all too much for Mom, cause she had a whopper of a headache last night...

DD1 had set up an email account on http://www.famililink.com/ for my mom while my parents went down to Wisconsin to visit last week. This site is apparently good for seniors just learning about emailing and the internet... Way to go DD1!!!

You read about my Bro and his broken ribs here this past Summer, and now, not to be outdone, my dad broke some of his...
Accidentally of course...  8-(

Dad has this motorized scooter, and goes out for a daily spin, away from the apartment, since he is unable to go for walks... This past Wednesday, while looking around on his spin,  he hit a pothole, and over he went. Two wonderful truckers stopped to get his scooter up-righted, and helped him up and back on it... Thank goodness there are helpful people out there...

Anyway, Dad has three broken ribs, and a possible 4th... Now he's on pain-killers, so hopefully he will be more comfortable.

Never a dull moment in my family's lives these last 2 years... Sheesh!!

Hope you are having a good weekend!

Myra

Yay for your mom! I will have to get her email address.

I hope your dad is feeling better - broken ribs are SO painful! I'd ask you to give him a hug for me but that would hurt so perhaps just give him my best wishes.

Wonderful that your parents are hooked up to the internet and email. How did we ever live without it? Sorry to hear about your Dad's accident..here's to a speedy recovery.

Wow lots of news! I would say your Dad can definately "feel Ted's pain" and I hope he heals as fast as Ted. Your Dad must have been clipping pretty fast. Is your Ma taking away his mini motor license now? LOL
Good for your Mom and thanks to DD1 as I will forward that link to my own Mother who has finally taken the computer plunge WITHOUT any help from us here! Have a great Thanks Giving with everyone healing and your now very much extended families! God Bless!

Love WK

Oh, dear - it's as worrisome having elderly parents as it is having small children, isn't it! Hope your dad gets better soon - and your mom learns to enjoy the 'net!

I sent a reply to your Mom's email. Gosh things sure do keep you hopping, huh? Hopefully the pain meds will do the trick for your Dad. Winnipeg's pothole situation sounds as bad as Calgary's. Take care. Hugs to you.
