25th Anniversary

Hello blogging friends!

It has been a long while again since I've posted, and read anyone's blogs.... I've been sick for most of the month... the first 2 weeks, and now again this past week, I am on meds for pneumonia now, and still feeling miserable, but some antsy at the moment, thus I sit doing this post right now...

I had to share with you my day yesterday. Our 3 adult children put on a surprize 25th anniversary party for DH and I... They did very well, with help from MrRose. I enjoyed myself very much, but would have enjoyed it even better if I was healthy. Had this event been for another, I would definitely have stayed home on the couch, but since it was put on in our honor, I had to be there, but I sat the majority of the time... and I did last till the end, though my mother offered to drive me home at any time.

Here are some shots from the day...

The entrance table... The flash cancels out our wedding photo I see...
The photo table. Old photos, Family photos, Wedding album, etc.
A very cool cake with a wedding and recent photo of us. All edible... I wonder how they do that? One of the kids wanted to eat my face... nice....
Myself sitting, MrRose, DD2, DS, DD1... and my dad at the far right...
Thanks Kids! You did a wonderful job of it! What a surprize! 8-)
Small speeches, or at least I thought they were to be, but DH ended up sitting me back at the table and did a 1/2 hour talk while moving in between all the tables... Acknowledged just about everyone and what they mean to us. 8-)
Family, friends, and neighbors...
Putting the first cut into the cake...
Our kids thought of everyone! A bar and food for the adults, a play table and kids food for the little ones... It was great!
No photo of the food served, but they had platters of Subway sandwiches (DD2 manages 4 Subway shops), and 5 different and yummy salads... Mmmmmm! And the cake for dessert of corse!

My wonderful SIL L put lots of time into making 3 Cds of music from over the years that we listened to in the background, which we were given at the end of the evening... Thanks L!!! 8-)
You know, even if people are told, "no gifts please, just your company is gift enough", they still bring gifts!!! How spoiled we are!!!

Here are some of the lovely gifts we had received... Thanks all!!! 8-)
And, I have to show you the 25 beautiful roses that came to the door for me on Tuesday from my DH... I tell you, not that I am not grateful, but that day 1 rose or a potted plant would have been enough. I felt like I was going to pass out that day, so doing the fresh flower cuts to 25 stems, and into "3" vases took a heck of a lot out of me... Lets just say it took about 10 minutes longer than it would normally take me... They are beautiful though!
Thanks Honey!!!
And now, I will go back to the couch, TV, Tea, and my meds...
and back to my doctor again for a follow up tomorrow...
It is slow going, but hopefully I will be back in action soon...

I hope everyone is having beautiful weather, and getting lots done! 8-)

God bless!
Myra

I'm sorry to hear you have been so under the weather...especially for the party your kids put together for you. It looks like you had a nice time, though, in spite of feeling poorly. Be sure to take it easy now and get extra rest to make up for the excitement of the party. Everything else can wait....it will still be there when you feel up to it.

Wow! What an honor to have so many people at your celebration and your children did a great job of thinking the whole thing through and including the children and everyone. Congratulations on 25 years! What a bummer though to have to be sick during such a wonderful memory. Hope you recover soon!
