This and That from the week...

A few retreat photos from last weekend...

This is friend Dl's creation from the weekend.
It still needs a border...
It is a Swirly Girls Designs, "Focus Pocus" Pattern. Love it! Wouldn't it look great in Oriental fabrics!?!

Friend Ls' darling baby quilt in the making...
 Friend Yn's table runner...
Photo doesn't show its true rich colors...
Another of Yn's. This is from a class she took at the Fargo quilt show a couple weeks back...
Y finished it up at our retreat.
 Sometimes at weekend retreats,
you need a break from sewing... 8-)
This week I've been quilting my little TJ's baby quilt... Nope! Still not done!! Shame on me... but life seems to keep getting in my way of finishing this up!!! 8-(
I just have the borders to quilt,
and the binding to do now...

At my CCC group this week, we had our monthly BOM raffle. Eight and a quarter blocks. LOL!!
The quarter is a block promise, plus there is one more block, a blue one, that will be added for a total of 10 blocks...

These are the samples of October's BOM... Another thing to add to my list "to do soon"...
We went to DD2's. DD1 and her were making pierogies (me too some)...
All shapes and sizes it seems... 8-)
But mostly I was on baby TJ
watch/play/snuggle...
He's lost his hair on top his head... 8-(
See, I was supposed to have TJ's quilt done to bring to him yesterday... 8-(

Hope you all had a great week!

To my fellow Canadians,
enjoy your turkey/thanksgiving weekend!

On my retreat weekend...

 I put together Septembers BOM...
Paper- pieced...
The BOM group project is supposed to be "EASY", that every level of quilter in our group can accomplish... Not so with this block, and way to time consuming!!!

I put together a jelly roll. Quite a few quilters are doing it like this right now. I won the jelly roll at the Carberry Retreat in the Spring...
I plan to put some applique on it. Some of the gals suggested a silhouette. We'll give it some thought, and do some creating on it later, after I get more of my PhDs done...

I also put together a table runner
out of a Charm Pack.
Did it in 4-Patches the Billy Lauder way...

We had a cute little visitor...
...that tended to "linger" after someone
gave it a bowl of milk... lol!

We had a wonderful weekend with lots of wonderful creations on the go, and good eats...

Time to plan the next retreat! 8-)

A day into the wilderness...

With a lovely Fall day with 26* temps on Tuesday, we had to take advantage of it!! So out into the wilderness we went... On the Winnipeg River, in the Whiteshell Provincial Park...
We hadn't been there in a long time, and
we were surprized at how low the
water levels were... Wow!
Stopped for a couple hour sit/picnic/walk
on a sandy beach...
We saw wolf tracks...
Big bear tracks...
Beside baby bear tracks...
We went on a steep up hill hike
to look over the area...
Sun is going down, we best get down,
and back into the boat...
Beautiful Fall time colors...
Gorgeous colors, and still waters...
Made it to the dock just as the sun went down...
It was a lovely, fresh air kind of day... I had a great sleep that night! 8-)

Hope you are able to get out in these warm Fall days, before the weather turns icy...

Definitely a game to bookmark!! 8-)

Happy stitching!

Sew, Show, and Tell...

Last week Wednesday I (once again) became a member of our provinces guild. Manitoba Prairie Quilters Guild. I think I took a 3-4 year break from it...

This beauty is this year's raffle quilt...
So now I have some show and tell from that evening to show you.

These are the ones that really caught my eye!
This one was done Stack & Whack method...
An Artistic Piece - This gal is always very creative! Check out her website.
Love this scrappy Double Wedding Ring with the black background!!
Our city, after 15 years of being without, now has its hockey team back!! The city is crazy with excitement of its first game...
This is the old logo of the team.

A fairly new blogger, Beth, is playing along on my Mystery Quilt-Along. Do take a minute to visit her blog... We all remember how please we were when people were visiting/commenting on our blogs when we first started blogging! Right! 8-)

Do I know you E.M.?
You left me a lovely congratulatory comment as "Anonymous", on the birth of TJ, but you are a "no-reply", so I can't email you a thank you...? I'm racking my brain to try to figure out if I know you, as I always tell my non-blogging friends to leave their initials for me!?!? I am stumped here! Hmmmm...?

Now, off to hopefully get some sewing done!!

Have a great day!

More of Gramma's brag...

I promise I will not be making overly to many Gramma brags on my blog! It is just that it is
all so new and exciting just now... lol! 8-)

I was gone for a few days... again!!
Yup! At TJ's house... again!! I went to help prepare and pull off another family gathering...

Pretty much the whole family got together (sadly, minus Mr&Mrs.Farmer), this past Sunday to celebrate DD2's 25th birthday, DH's 50th, Mr&Mrs.Rose's 1st wedding anniversary,
and DH and my 27th...  TJ was such a good baby throughout the whole day/evening, and everyone got to hold him for a bit... 8-)

This photo was taken this morning...
TJ's baby blue eyes are not blue any longer... Turning dark like his Daddy's side of the family...

...and here are the proud first time Great-Grandparents, my mom and dad...
I was just tickled pink today, as TJ gave me 3 big smiles while I was talking to him this morning... DD2 insists it was gas... NOT!!

Back to my regular life tomorrow...
Back to doing some sewing and housework!

Happy stitching!

Mystery Quilt-Along Questions...

I've had a couple of questions asked about the mystery, so thought I'd share...

Question 1 - Doreen asked if the 3 blocks that you were to create from the first step could be on-point? Nope! Not in this layout, but it can be made in any method you'd like. Paper-pieced, appliqued, whatever you wish?

Question 2 - Sandie asked if this mystery would work as a 2 colored quilt? Hmmm...? I'm not very good with the 2 color thing, so Sand suggested I look at my fabrics in gray scale, to see if you'd need light, medium and Dark... Well, I've put photos on here for Sandie to decide, and maybe comment her thoughts here for the rest of us... I'm not making that decision for anyone... LOL! 8-)

My fabrics in color...
 In gray scale...
 My 4-patches from Step 2
arranged like this "Just For This Photo..."
 ...and in gray scale...
Unveiling my 3 blocks for this Mystery Project...
 ...and in gray scale...
 And there you have it!!
Click on photos for a better look-see... 8-)

Thoughts?
