This is a pressing tutorial.
Perhaps a new method for you too....
Last year at the retreat I heard of this "method of pressing seams" from another quilter, and brushed the idea aside as a waste of time. This year I heard of it again as she was telling others, and again I brushed the idea aside...
Well, while putting together a block at home on Wednesday I thought, "Why not at least try it, and prove it to myself that it is not a method for me..."
Well, imagine my surprize to find that this method does make for cleaner, crisper seams!!
Wow!!!
An extra step in pressing,
but I do think is might be worth it!!!
FYI: I always use the steam setting... always have!
This is what you do...
1.) Set your seam...
2.) Press seam open... Yes! Open... 3.) Flip and press seam on top...
4.) Flip, and now press your seams in the directions you normally would for your block...
5.) Flip and press on top again...
Block is done, and you'll be amazed at how much crisper your seams are...
Apparently, according to this quilter at the retreat,
this is how a lot of the pros do it...
Don't believe me? Try it for yourself!
You may be amazed!! lol! 8-)
Happy pressing!

Added note: This was a scheduled post, prepared on Wednesday, and since then I have been parked on the couch, or in bed, in and out of sleep...
No energy... I hate being sick!!!
