Show & Tell

Lots to catch up with yet after my
comp problem hiatus...

This is the May CCC BOM grouping that
I won on June 1st...
Yaaay!!! I finally won one!!!
Here they are displayed on my wall at home...
There are a few more blocks to come in yet...

At our small group retreat that following weekend, we were pleasantly surprized to find that there was a lovely stone patio added to the cottage since we were there in April...
We made good use of it! 8-)
First thing I did was finish up knitting up this baby afghan that I'm making for my G-Babe to be... Silly me I thought 3 balls would be enough...NOT!!! Now I have to go find more...
Very soft, and fun to knit up...

Then I made June's CCC BOM scrappy
block for the next draw...
...and since I won May's block, it is up to me to whip up a block along with instructions to present to the gals for the July BOM... Already made, but can't reveal it just yet... Surprize ya know!?! 8-)

This is Yn's Iron Carrier that she made
at the retreat.
Here she is opening it up.
 The outside when flattened out.
The ironing pad side up... Very handy!!
Too cute! I'll be making one!! 8-)

This is A's "quilt as you go" double sided butterfly project that she was working on...
This is De's Lone Star and Log Cabin quilt. It took a bit of fussing and ripping, but she got it put together!!! All it needs are the borders now...
Dl started her 2 fabric paper-pieced project...
De's Star Quilt... I believe it was done like
a stack & whack...
Ls' baby quilt gift. Panel pictures and Disappearing 4-Patches.
 Ls's finished raffle donation quilt...
Ls's redwork snowmen that she received as a gift. She started making the pieces to sash them...
The gang that was out for this retreat...
My work station. Putting the binding on one
of my PhDs for my challenge...
Here it is finished a few days after the retreat.
You can read a bit more about it (my frustrations) on the PhD Challenge blog here...
Glad I got a 2nd one completed, and now I am
on to my 3rd, hoping to have it done before
the end of the month...

Will have some Wonky Bit Show & Tell
in the next day or two...

Thanks for visiting!

Happy stitches!

Popping in...

Still alive, but not spending much time in front of the computer at all lately, thus infrequent posting, and blog visiting/hopping... 8-(

The gals at my quilt group have been busy making scarves with this new  Frill Seeker acrylic yarn by Estelle... There is about 8 of us busy with it, in all different colors...

Here Jr is working with it...
 Halfway done...
My stop at the Yarn Shop got me these,
and I've already finished one up!
The blue one is for friend Barb...
My finished creation
modeled for you...

On the quilting front, I went to Barb's Shop to rent the quilt frame set up again for another PhD project... Once we figured out some skipped stitches and thread breakage problems,
it was smooth sailing... 8-)
I am hoping to finish up the binding on it at another quilt retreat this coming weekend... 8-)

Here, front and back of a "for Baby"
Crochet Book I recently bought...

I was looking for a book of simple baby knitting, but couldn't find what I liked... yet... and thought that I may be able to create a couple of these cute projects for my expected grand-baby... 8-)

Spring has definitely sprung here! The snow is almost all gone now, though it is still quite wet out when walking the fur-girls...
We are also experiencing/expecting, more of our rivers to flood in our city/province, so sandbagging is in full swing. We ourselves will not be affected...

Hope you are all keeping well!

Still alive here... 8-)

Been sick and on the couch for a couple of weeks, with not much energy or interest in the computer, but am now on the mend, and hopefully back in action! 8-)

I did get out to my CCC group gathering last night, and here is a bit of eye candy for ya'll...

This is what friend Vf made at Barb's shop, Carellan,  at their "I love to sew" session.
At these sessions participants learn a new sewing technique or skill...

The next 2 blocks are for a group quilt going to a gal that is moving to Newfoundland.
This is Vf's...
 This is Gb's...
Dl has been making "doggie beds", stuffed with a lot of our fabric and batting scraps, to donate to the Winnipeg Humane Society...
I was going to pass along my scraps to Dl too, but I think I will make the "doggie bed", and then pass it on to her... Less work for her to do then...

What's new here?

MrsFarmer (DD1), has been up and around here for the last few weeks, which is really nice... 8-)

Snow is melting, and Spring is coming!!!
Been seeing more of this little one...
Wondering if the baby bunnies are here already, keeping warm under my deck? They will show themselves eventually... They always do!! 8-)

I had a fur-girl escapee situation while I was sick. Let me say, I was not impressed with the gal that was intruding on my time at my front door when it happened...  grrr....
Good thing the "cookie/treat lure" worked fairly quickly half way down the street.
Thank goodness!!!

DD1 "lightened my load" of very annoying hair of late, and it is feeling much better now...
Lots of gray hiding in there, but I guess that it is preparation to becoming a Grandma, right!?! 8-)

I've been organizing a "small group" (row robin gals) retreat for April (which we are all looking forward to), as well as getting back to planning, calculating, and making a sample of my Mystery
Project for the CCC Group... I am hoping to have it all ready to introduce to the group soon...

My updating of the PhD Blog tallies, and my PhDs have been suffering. I had an appointment to quilt another PhD project, but wasn't well enough to get to it.
Good thing about these things, they never run away, so, it will all get done eventually... 8-)

I hope you have all been well friends/family!!!
Sorry I haven't done much blog visiting lately! Hopefully I can "fix" that in the next few days...

Happy stitchings!

CCC Sew, Show & Tell...

Here is a better photo (borrowed from Jr), than what I took at the retreat, of Ed's awesome Quilt. This gal does not consider herself a quilter... HA!!! She is a great "sewer", but only makes a quilt at our retreats... Ed is a quilter!!! Darn rights! 8-)
This is Sg's table topper that she was trying out her machine quilting skills on... She did a wonderful job! 8-)
Vh's creation from a Mystery Class she took on the weekend... Love the fabrics! 8-)
This is Yn's from the same class.  Very Christmasy Y!!! Love it! 8-)
This is Pg's creation from a class a month ago. Love it!!! I believe the choices were a purse, tote bag, or this table topper, with the same applique design... I think Pg will fill in the blanks in my comment box... 8-)
One of 2 quilt tops that Sd and her husband made this past week... Very quick to put together she says...
... well, if hubby is doing the cutting, and she is doing the sewing, it is bound to go quickly... And here is the second quilt top!!!
Anyone want to know where you can find a "fabric cutter DH"? Wish mine were one!!! Lucky Sd!!! Looking good Sd and Dd!!! 8-)

Happy stitchings!
