The message below is one I found on friend Pat's blog... It is from one of her blogging friends. You also may know Babara from her "Pinelands Patches, Beadscapes and Spirit Dolls" blog... This blog has disappeared! Read further to find out what happened to Barbara's Blog, in order to protect your own blog, and to get the link to her new one...

Because of a new droid cell phone that requires a gmail account, one was set up for me at Verizon when I got my phone. So, silly me, thinking I didn't need the old gmail account anymore, I deleted it. What a shock to find that account was linked to my blog, so of course now my blog is totally gone.
I've dug on the web a little bit, and this is a common occurence, but there's not an easy answer. Even if I was successful in reactivating my old google account and getting my blog back, the photos seem to be gone forever. So I googled my blog name and found some cached pages which may help remind me of what's important to re-post and a list of the blogs I follow. But my Followers and everyone will now get a notice that my blog is gone, and I have no way of knowing who all of them are.
Would you please post a note on your blog about this with a warning to everyone NEVER to delete that gmail account even if they don't use it or think they need it. If they want to keep their blog, they need it. I just didn't remember that it was necessary to have a couple years ago when I set up my blog.

The more this info gets circulated to all bloggers, the more we prevent others from going through this headache and disappointment... 8-)

Thanks for this Myra. I was a follower and now I will change my settings to follow the new blog. Interesting dilemma. I would never have thought of it - deleting a gmail account...

I'm so glad you posted this information. It would be awful to lose your blog.
I love the yo-yo's made with that tool. They really have the prettiest shape to them. That's on my wish list now.
Been there, done that! And now I can add *lol*, but the laughing took a while....
Oh, that is so sad!! I just deleted a couple of gmail accounts, but got a warning about losing access to any blogs attached - luckily they weren't the ones that I use for my blog! I thought there was a recovery process, but maybe only for deleted blogs, not accounts. Thanks for sharing this - a good heads' up!
