My 1st PhD for the challenge is done!

Sunflower Quilt completed!
DONE! Finally! 8-)Ruby's stamp of approval too yet! 8-)

This makes 1 done on my PhD list...
NEXT! 8-)

Ladies of the PhD Challenge,
Please do notify me of your finished projects so that I can mark them as done in my sidebar. With the busy time I'm having right now with my parents, I sadly do not have the time to peek in on you all just now...
Thanks! 8-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For those inquiring, my mom got her stitches out this week, has started physio, and is already ahead of most at this stage of recovery, so she is well pleased... 8-)
Looking for used furniture on the Kijiji listings for my children (always looking for a good deal), I found Mom a recliner lift chair. (she had mentioned wanting one) DH, DS, and Mom went to check it out, and ended up coming home with it. A very good deal! Other than needing a bit of a shampoo cleaning, it is in great shape... A bit smaller than my dad's chair...
Mom is well pleased with this too... 8-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now, about our two engaged darling daughters.
Since many of you had asked about this, here is the answer...
The girls will absolutely NOT be having a double wedding as they are each so different, and they both would not even hear of it...
For me though, having a double wedding would be much easier on us... LOL! Shucks!!! 8-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Off to take Dad to a doc's appointment, and Mom for a grocery shop stop. I hope it doesn't prove to be too much for her....
Happy sttitchings all! 8-)
You are one very busy lady! And sounds like you will be for quite some time to come! Two weddings to deal with . . . WOW!!!! Glad to hear your Mom is doing so good - she'll be ready for gardening come Spring. Nice PhD finish - looks great in the snow with the little one checking it out. - Marlene
Your quilt looks marvelous Myra. I've been quietly wondering why more bloggers don't photograph in the snow, I think its a great backdrop although I'm assuming your quilt might get a little wet.
Great looking chair I have never used kijiji but my daughter does .She bought a new house last summer and advertised to see if anyone had a deck for sale .I thought she was crazy but she ended up getting a new double level one from a model home .They even took it apart in sections and delivered it to her .
Expensive for you but I can see why each daughter would want their own wedding day .Maybe suggest two smaller weddings to help mom and dad out .
Love the quilt ,makes me think of summer.
Luv the finished quilt. Good for you to get it done with everything else going on. I had posted on my blog but forgot to post on yours that I finished PHD #2, pillow using pillowtop from M.W.'s class.
Well done Myra.
My dad has one of those lift chairs. He keeps the controller down in a pocket on the outside of the chair. When we go over and visit Stan likes to lie against his chair and his weight presses against the buttons. On more than one occassion he's dumped Dad out of the chair much to our amusement.
Love and hugs Gina xxx
I did not think they would do a double wedding, and in all honesty, neithe would I. I was just thinking it would be easier on you - so would it be if they both eloped!!! then you could just do a huge party after for them!!! but, you don't want that either, so I guess you are in for some fun with two beautiful weddings this year!!! Go Girl!!!
Great News About MOM!!!!!! Yes, yes, and yes!!!!!! Fantastic!!! And I love her new chair!! Bonous for her - she needs a special chair that is going to help her with her independance, excellant!!
You are a great daughter. remember that, and just know it's true.
And I love the Sunflower quilt. I have finished a top, and for me, right now, that is a 'finish' - but it's not a completly done item simply because I do not quilt at this stage, so it has to go in to a quilter, but for me, it's 'done'. It will be completly done, when I have the funds to get it done, or I get myself some quilting skills and do it myself, which could be happening here soon....... so mark me off as one done. (1/2 done if you think I am cheating......)
Okay, off to see what else is going on in blog land and I will talk to you later!!!
My mom is a big lover and Sun flowers, it is her favorite flower. When I saw this quilt, it is beautiful by the way, I thought of my mom right away. She would love this. I had to laugh out loud when I say it displayed on the snow. It is like having a little sunshine with the snow in place. Steph
