I'm still around...

Here is a blog that I am sure will be quite informative and interesting to keep up with. Friend Pg brought it to my attention. It is called "365 Days of Free Motion Quilting Filler Designs". I look forward to learning from this Leah Day lady!!! 8-)

Though I haven't had the mojo to work on much all summer, and have been sick for the last 2 weeks, I found myself wanting to start a "little" hand project. Also, trying a new method of applique... This tutorial from the blog called "decaf please" best describes what I am attempting... Back basting single layer and back basting multiple layers. I don't have much to show right now, but here is the back of the little project...
I hope you are all having great weather...
Myra

I think I don't quite understand this method of applique, but I'm sure you'll explain it more as you go along. I'm sorry to hear you'd not been feeling well.

thanks Myra. I am having summer weather right now. It's gorgeous!! Windows open at night and everything!! Summer is finally here!!! And I was thinking about you today - was going to send you a message and let you know you are in my thoughts, and here you are!!
I am sorry you were sick for a bit here, 2 weeks is a long time to feel yucky. I hope you are going the other way. And I am glad you are trying a new thing - I am not much for applique, but it sure looks good when it's done.
I might have to check out the decaf blog!! I did check out he free motion quilting one!! THANKS!!!!! This will be my personal winter project - learn to use the skills that I took two clases on, and practice to machine quilt....... This is wounderful!!! Thank-yoiu so much for this site!!!
Now, you get feeling better. Take some time to enjoy this fall and I will be very happy to have you show up on my 'blogs I am following' page, because I love seeing, learing and reading about what is going on in your part of the world!! But first, you need to take care of you. I do not want you sick anymore this year - it is not any fun. And you need to have fun - and smile and laugh. So, grab a good book, watch a great movie and have a fantasic week!!!!

Hi Myra! Interesting project you have going there! Can't wait to see the front of it. I checked out this technique and it looks interesting.

I love the free motion website you linked to. I've bookmarked it. The supreme slider gadget that she uses under her work looks like just what I need to help make my stitches more uniform. I'm going to check tomorrow at the quilt shop I am going to and see if they carry it.

I hope you are feeling better and back to your old creative self again soon. We've all had nasty colds here too, but nothing really major. I'm hoping we've built up our immunity and will be good for the winter...is that asking too much this early? We'll see!

Take care,
MGM
