An April Finish!

First up is an April Finish...well, start and finish. 8-)
These are the fabrics I finally decided on for my X-Bag...
Made it a tad bigger than my other... I likes it! Yes, Yes! 8-)

Last night, while prepping my fabrics/cut-outs, I set up an extra stitch table in my sewing room. It worked out pretty darn good today... My cousin Dt got here shortly after 11am, and we got right into prepping her fabrics for her very first X-Bag...
Here are the fruits of our labor today...Dt's bag is made of denim, and we learned what not to do with denim. Very bulky sewing... took a lot of trial and error on Dt's part, but she persevered and completed it (minus buttons) before she left at 9pm...
We did take a breather for supper, by ording pizza and a ceasar salad in...
Worked for me!!! Worked for Dt!!! Yum! 8-)

Last night we had a good show of ladies that came out for our quilt evening, but not much for show and tell due to many starts to hand-piecing/quilting projects.

We did have Sd's Carrot Table Topper to look over though!

Great job Sd! Perfect for the Easter table! Isn't it darling?!
Check out the carrot fabric she used for the backing/binding... 8-)

Well, that be it for today from me. It's been a very full day, so it be time to sign out for now... and tomorrow it is time I get caught up on my emails... 8-)

Busy in the sewing-room...

Happy St.Patty's Day to our Irish friends! 8-)

At our Country Rose quilt gathering tonight, Gk brought along a yummy cake, of course with green icing, and the plates to go with it! Thanks Gk! 8-)

No Show/Sew & Tell to post from the gals, and I just worked on my hexagons again...

I spent the day in the sewing room today. Not sewing, but getting things somewhat organized.

DH did get my 2 new work surfaces up on Sunday night. Yay! But come Monday, I spent the day on my butt. Recuperating from the retreat, and catching up in Blogland! lol! 8-)

See the awful legs DH put up? Hopefully they will be replaced shortly, but it serves the purpose for now. My cutting surface stands at 40"!!! I hope it is not too high!

So, today I looked through my stuff and found a spot for most things... for now, and will be able to work in there... 8-)

Best thing of all, the comp/TV/sewing machines are now all in one room... I could be in there for days!!! lol!

Yup! That's my sewing room! Nothing fancy! Cluttered? Yes! Functional? Yes! Mine? Yes, yes!!! 8-)

Penny, of Nine Patches Quilty World brought my attention to this BOM over at Grandma's Kitchen, that started a few months ago. The website is in Dutch. Very cute! Thanks Penny! 8-)

Now, it is time to go get my bag of chips and can of coke, and lay myself on the couch to watch Biggest Looser: Couples! Hehehe evil grin.... 8-)

Photos of my new sewing room...

Remember I mentioned that we moved back in November '07, well, this would be my newest sewing room that many a friend has not see as of yet... all in due time...

This is my sewing area, display wall, and where I sit to do hand work, look at books and watch TV. Ya gotta have a TV in the sewing room!!! 8-)

This is my cutting, ironing, library, TV, photocopying, and mess area! It is neat and tidy sometimes.... 8-)

This is my closet where most of my stash is, as well as other craft interests. Scrap-booking supplies, yarns, paints, etc. It too has tidier times....

The room is somewhat cramped, but not as bad as the small bedroom in my other house was. That room was about 9"x10", this room is 10"x12". Now that all the shelves are up, screwed to the walls I told my hubby that we should have made the master bedroom my sewing room. I would have had another 30 square feet!!!! But, that room IS on the north side of the house, and, I think I will manage in the smaller room with the south facing window....
