What a great retreat! Lots of laughs thats for sure!!!

Our Fall retreat (house photo) is done!
We had an awesome time and there is much to show.
I will go through ALL my photos tomorrow....
But I shall show you a few things... 8-)

First up is the Sports Sudoku Quilt.
(last time you see this quilt... honest!)
Done (last week), donated on Friday, and out of our group's hands!
Then there is my first finishes of the weekend. I had made 2 fund-raising bags last week or so, but managed 3 more bags by lunch time Saturday... Yaaaaaaaay.... DONE! 8-)I then worked on a UFO that has been around for a while.
Pg's order for all at the weekend was, "Get'er done!!!"
We were all very productive! 8-)

I joined all my pieces in rows. (Made from 3 charm packs.) Got this part done just before getting ready to head on home today... Feels good! 8-)
Anyway, I have 3 boarders to add and the quilt-top will be done...
(I could not find the fabric line of the charm packs for my borders, but found these fabrics with help, not the floral, at Faye's Henhouse Quilt Shop south of the border...)
Hoping to have that done for this week's quilt gatherings...
"Hoping...." 8-)

I hope you all had a good, safe, and healthy weekend!
Happy stitchings!

Done! 8-)

Got Lilly's X-Bag win done today... All I had to finish was the button hole... which I had to figure out how to do on my Pfaffy... My old machine was some simpler, but I figured it out! 8-)
Three pockets. I lined it with a pink stripe. Originally I thought to bind it with the stripe, but it was not to be... 8-)
I shall be mailing it off to Lilly on Tuesday due to our Victoria Day long weekend, so she should receive it by next week Monday/Tuesday I am thinking... We shall see! 8-)

Last night we went out for dinner, at The Keg, with our good friends W & J. We celebrated a big 50 birthday... Our meals were great! 8-)

I made the fur-girls a little stuffed arctic fleece pillow-like object to play with... Kept them busy for about 10 minutes... 8-)

Dora loves to chew all toys, especially Ruby's, to destruction, and I have found that arctic fleece seems to stand up better than any other item the girls might play with... I plan to make arctic fleece pillow covers for their pillows too... we'll see how that goes... 8-)

Anyone ever heard of a Tulip Tree? I haven't! Pop on over to Brenda's blog and have a look! Awesome!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!
Time for me to move on to my next deadline project! 8-)

A sure sign of Spring!!!! 8-)

Woohoo!!! When walking up our front walk after going to church today, I was excited to see 2 little flowers that have risen out of the earth against our house...The snow is really melting quite quickly now... OH happy day! 8-)

Here is the close up of one little flower...
And here I have circled the little beauties... Click on the photo! They are really there!!! See the snow? I had to show you the snow...how it is receding... 8-)
And here I've got a second carrot done for the Easter table on Sunday... I'm wondering if I'll have time to make one more...?... Something different again... hmmmm...? 8-)
Have a blessed and enjoyable Easter to all my friends, relatives, and blogging buddies... 8-)

An April Finish!

First up is an April Finish...well, start and finish. 8-)
These are the fabrics I finally decided on for my X-Bag...
Made it a tad bigger than my other... I likes it! Yes, Yes! 8-)

Last night, while prepping my fabrics/cut-outs, I set up an extra stitch table in my sewing room. It worked out pretty darn good today... My cousin Dt got here shortly after 11am, and we got right into prepping her fabrics for her very first X-Bag...
Here are the fruits of our labor today...Dt's bag is made of denim, and we learned what not to do with denim. Very bulky sewing... took a lot of trial and error on Dt's part, but she persevered and completed it (minus buttons) before she left at 9pm...
We did take a breather for supper, by ording pizza and a ceasar salad in...
Worked for me!!! Worked for Dt!!! Yum! 8-)

Last night we had a good show of ladies that came out for our quilt evening, but not much for show and tell due to many starts to hand-piecing/quilting projects.

We did have Sd's Carrot Table Topper to look over though!

Great job Sd! Perfect for the Easter table! Isn't it darling?!
Check out the carrot fabric she used for the backing/binding... 8-)

Well, that be it for today from me. It's been a very full day, so it be time to sign out for now... and tomorrow it is time I get caught up on my emails... 8-)

Another March finish...

Another finish for March for the "One Project a Month Challenge"! I've completed my Envelop Bag today! (sssshhhh... needs 2 buttons for closures)

Today I made the handle, and the inserts I mentioned yesterday.

Then I hand stitched the inserts in place...

These inserts make the side pockets deeper... for fear of loosing something... I tend to carry a lot around... 8-)

The insert fabric was as close in color as I was going to get shopping from my stash... It works well enough! 8-)

For those that requested, I'm very sorry, but I can't do a tutorial on the Envelope Bag, but you can find the pattern at The Quilt Company site. Look under patterns, they call it the "3 Pocket Tote". 8-)

A March Finish...

There we go! Another project finished! A March finish for the challenge! Table topper for Mom... Too bad I didn't have it done yesterday so that my mother could take it home with her... Ah well... Now lets see if I can complete another before the end of the month! 8-)

I'd just like to say, being that I am not one for emailing, a quick "Thank-you" to all my blogging friends for their visits and comments. I appreciate each and every one of you, and love to visit your blogs! PS: I am good for emailing answers to questions though... and Please, Please, do not feel the need to email me after I leave comments on your blogs... unless, of course, I've asked a question... 8-)

Yesterday we reached +1C! Woohoo! We had rain, that froze and made for very slippery driving, and we had the biggest snowflakes I had seen in a very long time! If you click on the photo you will see how big the flakes were when the hit the sidewalk. Very pretty to look at...

7 sleeps till the Carberry Retreat!
(I know! Another one! So soon!?!) 8-)

My February Finish is done!!! 8-)

Not washed as of yet because I just made the last few stitches on the binding, so you still see my quilt markings on the boarder... They will have to wait to be washed out till after my weekend retreat, but it is done, done, done!!! Woohoo!...

Our Wonky Bits group only saw 5/13 of us crawl out in the cold today. -34C ...brrrrrr...

The photo at the side here is a layout of blocks that we were playing with a bit today. It is Lp's lovely handy work... Going to look great hanging in her stairway when done! 8-)

Retreat, 1 more sleep! Time to go pack! 8-)
I shall catch up with you all on Monday! Have a great weekend! 8-)

January Finish Done! Yes! 8-)

My Criss-Cross Applesauce Mystery Quilt, led by Myra Harder of Blue Meadow Designs, is all done! Finished! Yahoo! (doesn't look square because of the slight angle that I took the photo at) This is my finish for the "One Project a Month Challenge" put on my May and Kris. Their links are in yesterday's post if you care to check it out. I best contact them to let them know... I am calling this finish my "Easter" table topper. Made in good time for a change! Easter, I'm ready! 8-)

I am committing to finish my Log Cabin wall-quilt for the challenge's month of February. Class for this was taken about 2-3 years ago, so it is high time I finish the applique, stitchery, and all on it, and get it up on one of my walls! Don't you think? 8-)

I will also start my quilting on one of the quilts I sandwiched last week, and perhaps be able to get a second one done in February... Who knows? I have a quilt retreat at the end of this month that may help me along... Unless of course I choose to do some piecing there... Which is more likely. 8-)

For those of you with young children, grandchildren, and daycare children, here is a link to a very cute Valentine craft... Corinna, maybe something for your bunch?

I am thinking I will be taking a break from blogging this weekend due to the new computer coming tonight, and some file cleanup I wish to do on this here pc relic. 8-)

Have a good weekend everyone! 8-)
