What I did at the retreat...

 Prepared binding for my most
recently quilted PhD #5, Jellyroll on Point...
Prepared binding for PhD #1, my Sunday Sampler, that I will quilt soon...
 Prepared a pieced backing for this PhD #4,
my Holly Jolly...
 I may quilt this at Carellan on Friday,
or perhaps PhD#1...

I made HST of different colors...
 ...and different colors of Flying Geese,
the No-Waste Method...
 I tried a sample of the Disappearing 4-Patch which,
Hazel brought to my attention...
From this....
 To this in 4 cuts...
 Check out this Tutorial for it....

I prepared our group's March BOM...
 The one with the white center is for the group,
with the black center is  for me...

I didn't accomplish a whole lot,
but bits and pieces, which was good...

I also worked a bit on the Mystery Project that
I am designing for another CCC group project... Making the units, figuring out the fabric requirements, and writing up the instructions...
It all takes time to do...

I have to keep focused on my PhDs though,
and keep reminding myself that!!! lol!

Happy stitchin'!!

CCC Group BOM Project...

My November Block is done!!
Two weeks ahead of time yet!! Not like me at all... I knew it was going to be a hard one, so it would be best to get at it right away... Now it is out of the way "YAHOO" and I can focus on my row for our Row Robin Project that is due soon...

This block had seams galore!!! Too many in my mind, considering that this was supposed to be a BOM of simple blocks... I know many gals in my group will struggle with this block also...
I did lots of picking and resewing...
I did manage to achieve a 12+1/2" finish though...
Hard to do with so many seams...
I made duplicates of the first 2 blocks, and made a simpler November block for myself, though the 4 patch is quite striking in appearance, I wasn't about to battle another today... 8-)
Tomorrow I will show you some Show & Tell photos...
Happy stitchings!

CCC Group BOM Project...

This is October's BOM that my group is doing.
It is due tomorrow...
You can find September's block here...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An observation... I have noticed, finally, that a lot of my posts are way too long... Lots of photos are fine, but I am getting too long winded, which takes too much time to prepare.
Also, I know for myself, I don't care to read posts that have too much to read, cause I don't have time for that, as I would imagine this to be for others... I am not a good "skim" reader...
So, I have been trying, but now I am challenging myself to always do short posts from now on...
This is the first one... Or was it too long?
Do you think I can do it?
Myra
PS: Just had to fit this in! Check out this post on Lizzie's blog. Amazing!
Our city group's BOM Project...
Our city group is doing a BOM, where at the end of the month, everyone brings their block, names are put in a hat, and the blocks are drawn for. The one that "wins" the blocks will supply the pattern for the next month's block, and so on...
Here is Septembers block. "Autumn Leaf", to be done in a fall color, and beige to cream background...
I hope to take a photo of all the blocks this coming Wednesday night...
Mini Retreat
Well, as I thought would happen, I didn't make it to our group's Mini Retreat yesterday, much to my dismay. I spent the day on the couch, either sleeping or watching TV, coughing and sneezing, and eating very little, but drinking lots of tea...?... My turn... 8-(
I haven't made it to one mini retreat this year, we usually only have about 3, but there is talk of perhaps another one coming up at the beginning of December!!! Here's hoping I make it to that one!!! 8-)
I hope I am feeling up to making it, to my appointment, to use the quilt machine at my friend's shop this coming Friday!!!
