Another Wedding Day & Day After

We had interesting weather for the wedding weekend!!! Cold and rain on Friday, fog Saturday morning on the way to the hairdressers, and sun, cloud and cool-ish for the rest of the day... Warm and sunny on Sunday, which was perfect for our outdoor gift opening...

Introducing, Mr & Mrs.Rose as they are leaving the church, with DD1 and DS in the background...
The surprize vehicle (DD2's boss's car, with their son as driver) waiting to take them to the reception hall. This car was a big surprize to Mr.Rose!!! Nice one DD2, and what great bosses you indeed have!!! 8-)
The reception was lovely! The hall was wonderfully decorated, the food was great, and everyone had a wonderful time dancing the night away!!! The presentation gifts were Kindersurprise Eggs, which holds a special meaning to the happy couple. Mr. Rose hid the engagement ring inside one, and gave it to DD2 on their engagement night... As guest's gifts, they went over really well with all the children at the wedding. It kept them busy all night!! 8-)

Father of the Bride dance... Funky hat there Dad! 8-)
Had to show this! Grandma's knee replacement this past February, was a huge success, as she was dancing quite a bit! Learning to line-dance here with Mr & Mrs.Farmer... Way to go Mom!!! 8-)
The Momma & the Poppa!! 8-)
Ya-ya Mt, I'm using your photo... Good one! thanks!
Our shelters were put to good use again, this time at Mr.Rose's family home for lunch and the gift opening! We all had a great time!!!
Thanks so much B, H, & family!!! 8-)Quilt top presented, and then given back for me to finish... It was a hit with Mr & Mrs.Rose!! 8-)
I am hoping to have it done by the time they are done their honeymoon in 2 weeks time...Well, our family of 5, became a family of 7 this past weekend, all within 28 days... Mr & Mrs.Farmer's August wedding weekend here... It feels good to have all the hubbub of the year behind us now! Hopefully now life will quiet down a bit... 8-)

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Wisconsin Visit/Farm Reception & PS

PS: Forgot to mention, I had brought my father home from the hospital on the Tuesday before we left. No transfer to another hospital, and no out patient physio...? Went to visit Mom and Dad yesterday, and he is doing very well... 8-)

We're baaaaaaack....

Twas the night before the reception when the tables were decked...
...a TV/DVD player set up to show a slide-show of wedding photos...

The food area against the wall prepped...
...and a great assortment of great food to be had...

..and the "beverage unit" delivered and set...
Beer and Pop on tap...

Then came the event, with guests dropping in throughout the day...
DD1 walking towards me...

See the Mule? The red four wheeler to the right of the photo? I had a fun drive on it on the Friday... Yeehaa!!! A first for me!!! 8-)

... Tours of the home renovations done....
...A cake cutting and sharing by the wedding couple...
DD1 and MrFarmer of course...
Here I am with a four legged guest that was there...
A 6 year old Great Dane!!!

The cows even made an appearance...
At milking time of course!
In an orderly formation... Quite a sight!!! 8-)

Like the Canadian Geese we've been seeing lots of since we've been home...
Yes my friends... you down south have been notified, they are on their way down...
Getting chilly up here! Fall has definitely come...

We had a wonderful visit/celebration down on the Wisconsin farm, and met lots of MrFarmer's family, friends, and neighbors.... A good time was had!
Thanks for your great hospitality Family M!!! 8-)
Missed you Taylor... 8-(

The house renovation photos will come soon...
Busy with DD2's last minute wedding prep now...

Wedding Photo Collages & Update on Dad

Here are a couple of photo collages from DD1 & MrFarmer's wedding that a friend put together...

A family photo that my brother... or SIL took...
Thank you all so much for your wedding wishes, and your get well wishes for my father...
Very much appreciated!

To keep family and friends up to date, Dad is having trouble getting in and out of bed (more so than normal), so he may be transferred to another hospital for a few days for more physio therapy care. We are hoping this plan will come together, as Mom is not up to getting up 4-5 times during the night, to help him...
Otherwise Dad is doing well...

We went to a medical equipment store yesterday to get a side rail for Dad's bed, and a new walker that is the right height for him... We also moved his bed to the other side of his bedroom, as we've seen that works much better for him...

That is the update around here!
Off to the hospital...

Wedding Day... and day after...

Our little family unit...
DH, self, DD1, DD2, & DS
(before our family grew to 6 a half hour later... next month it will grow to 7...)
The wedding couple...
DD1 dancing with her new hubby, MrFarmer...
Not the greatest photo... We had camera problems... 8-(
We had a wonderful day of festivities yesterday! A wonderful ceremony, great food, great company, and everything went well, except for the weather. Since we were indoors for the most part it was A-OK!!! I think we finally got to bed around 4-5am, after the wedding clean up at the hall, the long drive home, unloading and finding room for all the left over food... Whew!!!

This afternoon we had a a small group in for the gift opening at our place. Friends of the bride and groom... We are now beyond beat!!! Sleep can't come too soon... 8-)
Here is a photo of the quilt presentation... A "Farm" themed quilt was requested, and that is what she got! Yes, it still needs about 2 feet of binding sewn down... DD1 had me hopping too much this past week to get it done... 8-(
I shall take a full view photo when it is done...tomorrow!!!

The quilt will travel to the farm soon, when we go States-side for the US reception in a couple of weeks... Another big event apparently!!! It should be a great time! MrFarmer's family is awesome!!! 8-)

Next on the agenda; my dad's surgery early Tuesday morning... Monday will be a day of rest... 8-)

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Going to bed now... ZZZzzzzz......

Getting there and count down is on!!!

First let me show you the turtles that DD2's future sister-in-law made for on the cake, for DD2's second shower last Sunday...
DD2 loves turtles!!! She may even have a couple of them, with top hat and veil, on top of her wedding cake! 8-)

This is what DD2 looked like after she answered a bunch of questions wrong for a "How well do you know MrRose?" game... Priceless! 8-)

Nearing the finish of DD1 and MrFarmer's wedding quilt!
Got the label on and a good start to the binding being hand sewn down...
I can only work on it when DD1 is out of the house...
I may have some help at my quilt group tonight... Wonderful ladies!!! 8-)

I have some of my Wasp Traps ready to go outside...
The wasps have been showing up the last few days... We don't want any bites when wedding company are over for some of the events...

Back to printing out and folding wedding programs...
Hope you are all having a great week!

Sorry I don't have time for blog visits at the moment!

Happy stitchings!

Still Kicking Here...

Yes I am still kicking... Exhausted, but kicking. lol!
I'm having issues with "regrouping" from some of the pre-wedding related planning and activities, so DD1 is very clear with me about what I can and cannot do come her wedding weekend. "We want you in good form for the wedding day Mom!!!" Dealing with MH-Issues for 8 years now, and I think I've been holding up really well during this crazy year, for what I had imagined of how I'd be coping during this countdown stage, so that is a darn good thing!!! Oh yes!!! 8-)
ANYWAY.... here are....
Photos from the Bridal Shower last Sunday...
Here are the gorgeous cupcakes that maid-of-honor Mk made. Click on the photo for a closer look. Aren't they wonderful!?!
Petals made with mini marsh-mellows, cut on an angle, then sticky cuts dipped in colored candy sprinkles, and arranged on icing topped cupcakes... Too cute!!! Mk stayed up till 3am the day of the shower making them! You rock Mk!! 8-)

DD2 loves turtles, so DD1 had this turtle shaped bread made for our Broccoli Dip...
DD2 thought it was wonderful... Great idea DD1!!! 8-)

The buffet style lunch...
DD2 doing her thank yous, DD1 with Dad's head wear.
I think that "Dad", bought the hat special, to wear to/at the weddings...

We had a surprize at the shower for DD1 too...
We had a disguised box "suggestions for a happy marriage" for DD2's Shower, so DD1 thought, but in reality it was for cards with monetary gifts for DD1 as a shower gift. She can use the money to buy items in the States for her future household in Wisconsin, to avoid any problems at the border, and have less to move when the time comes...
She was very surprized!!! lol!
Got'cha girl!!! 8-)

To all the shower guests, I say a big THANK-YOU for your wonderful gifts for both our daughter's, and a big THANK-YOU to those that helped with things before, during, and after the event, to make the shower a success!!! Your time and efforts are all very much appreciated... 8-)

Check out the quilts on this post of Zlaty's! Awesome quilts and very inspiring!!! 8-)

Mr Farmer, DD1, DD2, MrRose...

The Silent Auction tables... 17 + 3 grand prizes...
DS, my mother, and MrFarmer in the photo...

This Lottery Tree made it to the auction table after I took the first photo...
A friend of mine won it, and I am waiting to hear if she won anything from it... 8-)

DD1 & MrFarmer, during the intro first dance...

... and DD2 & MrRose, during the intro first dance...

... and DH & I...

This is the 36-foot Subway-sandwich donated by DD2's bosses for the evening lunch...
A lot of the peoples' eyes went wide when it was carried in, in 12-foot sections... It got eaten up fast! 8-)

My family surprized me with 2 large birthday cakes, that was enjoyed by all...
My big 50th b-day tomorrow... yikes!
A chocolate, and a white cake! Delicious!!!
Thanks guys! 8-)

A great time was had by all, and the security guys had nothing to concern themselves with at all with our whole bunch...

Success, and a great social fund-raiser for both couples...

To our family and friends, we thank you all for your contributions and support! 8-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DH left for Wisconsin with MrFarmer yesterday, to help with more work on the farmhouse for a while, and I'm still trying to catchup on my sleep from the weekend... 8-)
Up next, Bridal Showers, and continual work on the wedding quilts... sigh...
I will do an update post for the PhD Challenge tonight...
Oh my God!
I don't know how many more of these surprizes I can take this year!!!
DD1 and Mr Wisconsin came to a family gathering last night and announced they are engaged!!!
Another one I didn't get to say, "It's about time" to, cause it came so darn fast!!!
And lets just say the whole family was shocked!!!
And once again, especially Uncle T....
Congrats to DD1 & Mr Wisconsin!!! 8-)
Love,
Mom
PS: Friends and family, Mums the word on Facebook please...
Friday, January 1, 2010
Oh my God!!!
To say I didn't see it coming would be untrue, but I didn't even get to say "It's about time" to them, cause it came so fast!!!
DD2 and MrRose are now engaged!!!
He hid the ring in a Kinder Surprise chocolate egg and gave it to her at a minute before midnight on Dec 31st, 2009!!! They came into the house around 12:30am, from their New Years Eve outing of ice-skating and watching the fireworks, with gigantic smiles on their faces, only to shock those that we had over for the evening... Especially her uncle T!!! 8-)
Congrats DD2 and MrRose!!! 8-)
A date has been set for sometime in 2013
ah...undetermined as of yet... 8-)
Love,
Mom
PS: Friends and family, Mums the word on Facebook please, as per DD2's wish for now...
