Morden Quilt Show & my splurge!

Oh boy did I splurge at the quilt show yesterday!!!
This is what I splurged on!!!
I gave it about a 10-minute consideration, and then went for it... I had wanted such a program for the last 2-3 years now... Can't wait to give it a go!! 8-)

Since I did my "splurge", I had more control of myself with regards to fabrics... I got the 2 greens for 50% and 40% off...
The fat quarter is for making, what else, Zebras...

Patterns bought...
I could not pass up the Giraffe Growth Chart, as they had a sample of it hanging there
that was just too cute!!

Little wall-quilt hangers & ergonomic ripper..
Lil' Twister tool that I've been seeking off and on...

Still looking for an Apple Core tool though...
Want a strong one I can rotary cut around...

The rest of my goodies here I bought at a "Second Time Around" vendor table. I think I came home with some good savings... Attached to each, you can see what I payed...

I will post some photos of the quilts that were at this quilt show sometime this week...

Hope you are all having a great weekend! 8-)

Home... Thank goodness...

First, I must say "THANKS" for all the congrats & well wish comments on my "Grandparents we shall be" post... It still hasn't fully sunk in... 8-)

About the retreat weekend...

Friday's forecast said rain AND a snow storm was coming our way, but that wasn't going to keep us from the retreat (2.5-hrs away)!! I left home a bit earlier than we normally would, hoping to beat the worst of said storm... and, we did, but just by 20-30 minutes! Safe and sound, warm and cozy for the weekend!!! Sadly, about 8 gals had to turn around and go home... 8-)

The retreat was, as usual, wonderful in all aspects!! Sadly though, the two vendors that usually come out were unable to make it, due to the storm and road conditions... Completely understandable, disappointing, but money saved, and there is always next year!!! 8-)

Goodies from the "Retreat Boutique"
Retreaters could bring things from their
stashes and bookshelves, "Quilters Goodies",
to sell over the weekend...

  I bought...
Two magazines...
Three books...
No fabrics though...

One gal brought two big boxes of upholstery samples that were up for grabs. She didn't want to bring any back home! Thanks Leona!
This is what I picked out as I thought they might be good for a "Teddy Bear" or four... 8-)
Here is a gift of three Halloween FQs, that I received from the Retreat Hosts when I got there, and a Jellyroll I received after Sew & Tell, before going home... How great was that!?!
Thank you soooo much Sheryl!!! 8-)
Our drive home was indeed eventful!
My van broke down about 20 minutes away from the retreat house... Thank goodness for my DH driving the 2-hrs out to get us, and for CAA. They came and hauled my van into the city for us...
Now, that is 2-yrs in a row that I've had vehicle problems... Do you think someone is trying to tell me something? lol!

I'll post some Sew, Show & Tells tomorrow...
The retreat was great fun, as per usual...
Thanks Cranberry Quilters!!!
I'll be back next year! 8-)

PS: Mr&Mrs.Farmer came up this weekend, joined us for breakfast this morn, a nice visit,
and a game of cards... 8-)

Plastic Damage Done...

The print and purple came from my stash, and today I bought the green (photo doesn't show well), burnt orange, and beige to go with it...
I also bought the light green backing fabric, which, I'm not sure which quilt it will back just now...

I couldn't resist this darling Christmas pattern...
Plus I needed more thread...

I put my March "To Do" list on my sidebar... I sure gave myself much to do this month! Yikes! Hopefully I'll get a lot of it done at the Carberry Retreat wknd coming up in 11 sleeps... 8-)

I took my mother to Cora's for lunch today!
We had a lovely visit catching up...

Happy stitchings!

Home and tired...very tired...but here is my goodies!

Just home and very tired, but thought I would send out a quick post first...

I came home to a big surprize! A parcel in the mail, for me!!! 8-) I am going to tease you all by not posting the contents of the box until tomorrow morning sometime, but let me say, NICE GIFTIES!!! 8-) Thank you soooooo much for the PIF gift Mary Grace!!! I love it! 8-)
This is what I bought at Wallymart in Fargo on Tuesday night... I've heard a lot of good things about knitting with Bamboo needles, saw them, bought them... and then I decided to get a ball of cotton yarn right away... in case I wanted to do something in the evenings while recuperating from our spending sprees each day... not a stitch was made...
On Thursday morning, before we headed out of Fargo, my cousin dropped me off at Mill's End Textiles for a good hour and a half...
In this photo we have the yellow/blue and yellow/green fabrics that I thought would make kewl bias bindings. Also, a black/white for me growing collection, and the last 4 fabrics I thought worked well together, thinking the start of my collection for my bargello...?... We'll see... 8-)
I bought some tone on tones to add to my stash... I tend to not have enough of those... I think I could have looked for me, but I was pressed for time... 8-(
And I bought some Steam-a-Seam at $2.96 yd. Here we pay about $12 a meter!!! Found a kewl pattern that kept calling my name, and some Cover Buttons. I really like them, and use them often...
And, believe it or not, I did make it to Mayville, to Faye's Henhouse Quilt Shop Joyce!!! I've never asked my cousin to drive us there before (her vehicle) because it is 11 miles out of our way and she is not a quilter. I did ask this time and she was sweet enough to agree to it, and we had lunch in town there too.... happy, happy, happy! 8-)
Thanks Bf!!! 8-)
It is a very impressive shop, to say the least!!! I did not have as much time to really explore the shop, as I would have if I was with a bunch of quilters, but I did ok... 8-)

The one gal there was very helpful. Helped me pick out fabrics to go with my charm-pack project. I think we did pretty good. The floral is just cause I liked it and was on sale... and that pattern was calling to me too... 8-)
I found a neat little business card and measurement aid card in the bag with my goodies... a great little card!!! 8-)Well, that be it for all my sewing room purchases... I did buy myself 2 pairs of jeans, black pants, 5 tops, undies, and such, as well as some gifties for my little family...

A good time was had, and now it is time to catch up on some much needed sleep....
And if something I typed doesn't make sense to you, it probably won't to me if I read it again when I'm rested... lol! 8-)

Till tomorrow then!
