Country Rose Group Show & Tells...

I haven't really shown much Sew, Show & Tell for some time now, and that is because I haven't been getting to many of my quilt gatherings for the last 4 to 6 weeks. One of my groups gather weekly, and the 2 other groups gather twice a month each, so I've been missing a lot of female bonding and shared creativity time... 8-(

Last night I did make it to our Country Rose gathering!!!
It was wonderful to see you gals again!!! ... Finally!!! 8-)

This is Gk's wonderful Springy table topper! Complete with bead-work flower centers... Love your color/fabric selections G!!! 8-)
This Christmas table topper is Bs' creation! B is a fairly new quilter... Looking darn good there girl!-friend!!! 8-)
Someone bought a new T-Shirt she had to show off!!!
Awesome T Cd!!! Love it! 8-)This is Rs' lovely Dresden Plates she is just about ready to sash! Very pretty colors R! Looking great! 8-)
Pc was busying herself with hand-quilting this beauty! I think she has her work cut out for her, but she enjoys it, and it is easy for an "on the run - grab and go" for quilt night project! P, you go girl!!! 8-){Sadly, I can't show you what I've been working on until after each of the weddings...}

Here, I just wanted to show you the mushrooms I have to pick every morning, sometimes 2 handfuls, before I let Ruby out, or she'll eat them all!!! Dora doesn't bother with them...
I don't know if they are poisonous, so this worries me.... Can you see me, in my PJs first thing in the morning picking these!?! LOL! 8-)

I am planning to get to our Wonky Bits group tomorrow, so hopefully I will have some more lovely creations to share with you...

Happy stitchings!

2nd post today! wow!

And then there were two... Two bags that is!!! 8-)
Well, it took some more stitching and ripping, but Bag #2 is done!!! Yay!!! 8-)

And then I also got permission from Cb to post photos of her projects.
This is one darling little wall-quilt that she intends to put a decorative button in the center of each flower.
Love the pattern! Looking good Cb! 8-)
Cb was working on another applique project during the evening. Perhaps we shall see that one in the future also...

Well, I best get to bed now! It be a Wonky Bits gathering tomorrow, and I am helping the ladies with their envelope bags...

Till tomorrow!
Happy stitchings!

A Country Rose Gathering last night...

We had a good show of gals come out for our Country Rose group last night!!! (Yes I did get out!) We were excited to have 3 new ladies join us! Besides having 3 more quilting friends, we all benefit by the sharing of ideas, methods, and inspirations! You can never have enough of any of those! Right!?! 8-)

I'm not showing the photos I took of these new lady's projects on this post/blog... as I don't have permission to do so... The other gals take it for granted that I will post them, and then tell me which projects they don't want online... and I can respect that! 8-)

This first quilt photoed is Pg's "Hidden Wells", a quilt top that she made a few years back to promote a line of fabrics for a quilt shop. Pattern is by Mary Ellen Hopkins. It came out of the UFO pile because her granddaughter wants her bedroom redone in greens and purples, so Pg was binding it last nigh... Fitting isn't it!?! 8-)
Click on the photo for a closer look at the fabrics!
Great looking quilt Pg!!! 8-)
Pg tells me that I have the pattern for this quilt in my left hand sidebar under tutorials (which I think I will have to separate into "tutorials" and "patterns" categories)

Pg made this quilt below after a 1 year "quilting slump". She heard/read about a color reduction technique using VIM Toilet Bowl Cleaner. She cut up squares of fabrics, played in the kitchen sink with it, had fun, and had this quilt together in no time. Her slump was over!!! 8-)
Isn't it an awesome quilt!?! I think it's great!!!
One thing Pg cautions on, is that if you play around with such, make sure to use the same black fabric, or they'll bleach out to different colors... Unless you are looking for that effect... 8-)

This little project is one of two heat pads that Jb was binding. Nice additions for on your table at dinner time there J!!! 8-)Jb likes making little projects, but that is not to say she doesn't tackle big ones! 8-)

This Halloween wall-quilt was made by Cd for her daughter's classroom. Positive/negative piecing... Cd makes little seasonal wall quilts for her quite often. The children love it!
Looks great Cd!!! 8-)
Our Gk was so excited because she has been having quite a few free nights to get some sewing done in the evenings! It doesn't happen very often... Here she is busy with flying geese and 4-patches. On a roll! Good for you Gk! 8-)
And me? Well, since I hadn't joined the ladies for about 5-6 weeks I just enjoyed their company and looked through all their new books and magazines! Someone had to!!! 8-)

There may be more Sew & Tell yet this week!
Happy stitchings Ladies! 8-)

A Country Rose Gathering...

Last night I went to our first Country Rose Quilt gathering of the new school year. I had cabin fever from being sick for the past 2 weeks, and was going no matter what... though I was exhausted when I got home...
We changed our gathering place back to a building we gathered in 2 years ago. It felt like being home, though the A/C was lacking... Over heated women!!! lol!!!

This is the only sew and tell from the evening. A Pg finish!!! The quilting on it is beautiful!!! That lady is one to try and keep up with!!! She produ
ces big time!!! 8-)Apparently this was a mystery project, but "sieve for a brain me" forgets from where, so Pg, if you comment, you can fill that info in... 8-)

Tonight is my city groups gathering night, and I plan on being there too!!! I haven't seen those gals for about 3 weeks now!!! Hopefully more sew and tell tomorrow!!!

Happy stitchings!
Myra

PS:
some of you may have noticed that I have removed my email address from my profile page. I was starting to get a lot of "junk" stuff from who knows where, thus thought to try blogging without my email addy showing for about a month to see if it makes a difference... Just let me know in a post if you need to email me and I shall contact you... thanks! 8-)

Sunday's show of quilts and WIP's

Since this gathering was at Cd's house, we saw a lot of her wonderful creations...

This is the quilt Cd made for her husband... She won a 2nd place ribbon at a country fair here... Made of flannels...
Cd's Rail Fence made of flannels...
Isn't Cd's red, white, and black awesome? We all thought it was great! Simple in it's construction, but very effective in it's showing... 8-)
Cd's Log Cabins... Love blues... 8-)
Cd's Persian Star. Made in a class where we first met about 5-6 years ago... Love it! 8-)
You can see mine here...
These next two quilts are made from flannel fabrics Cd had left over from making a king size quilt for her son...
Her Flying Geese look so perfect!!! I've had trouble with those...?
This is what Gk brought to show us. She took a class... was none too happy with the class, but she is almost done her quilt... 8-)
Here we have Gk's hexagons she brought to work on...which she didn't. None of us did one stitch! We just talked and enjoyed the company... 8-)
And this is Cs' hexagons that she too brought to work on, but didn't... Her's is being done by hand when we gather, and machine at home if the mood hits her... 8-)
No photo, but I too brought my hexagons to work on... 8-)

What a beautiful sunny blue sky I see out my window today!!! Much appreciated after yesterdays drizzly day!!! Time to head out to walk the fur-girls, and go to my appointment for my annual checkup with my doc! Oh joy...

Have a wonderful stitchy kind of day! 8-)

Days are just flying by......

Yup! I don't know where it goes, but the days are just flying by for me lately!!!! No wonder we age so fast after the kids are grown!!!!

Last night we presented the Path Through the Pines raffle quilt to the school! We are hoping that it brings in a few thousand dollars for them by Christmas 2008.

There were 7 of us quilters present, as well as th
e Principal, Vice-Principal, one School Trustee, two Parent Counsel members, and a writer from the local paper for the area.

L did a wonderful job on the label for the raffle quilt! She even made a pinned on label with washing instructions for who ever the lucky winner is!!! OH! And that will be me! I tell ya! I'm going to win it!!! 8-)

This batik beauty is a full photo of L's quilt for her D-I-L. I believe it is the "Turning Twenty Again" Pattern. She is bound and just waiting for the label now.

I found this photo, taken a few years ago now, of one of J's first few quilts she made. Thinking that that also may have been her first experience with machine quilting too! I believe this one is the "Yellow Brick Road" quilt pattern.

For those of you following my Ruby Pug's progress, she is doing really well. I have the cone off her today, and so far she hasn't been scratching at her nose stitches, or licking her belly stitches. Dora though wants to play sooooo badly with her, but it is too soon to rough-house! Yesterday Dora nosed Ruby off the back of the couch to the floor. Momma not happy about that!!!! Luckily no harm done, and life goes on....
